LEXIE We got back to the bar a little after dark and the lot was already filling up, bikes lined in their usual rows and the windows glowing warm and loud with the start of the evening crowd. I parked beside Chaos's bike and pulled my helmet off and shook my hair out. "I smell like bug spray and freedom," I said. "It's a great combination, I recommend it." "Go shower," he said. "Wow. Rude, but fair." I headed for the side door. "I'm starving though. Save me something." I added. "I'll see what's left," he said, which from Chaos was basically a guarantee. I went straight up to my room, peeled off my jacket, and stood under the hot water for longer than strictly necessary, washing the wind and the road out of my hair.
