LEXIE The morning at the drug store felt normal, just like every other day. I moved between the shelves slowly, stocking bottles of vitamins and cold medicine. The air smelled faintly of soap, paper boxes, and something sweet from the cough syrup aisle. My shoes made soft sounds on the clean floor as I went back and forth.
