I haven't seen Ararsi all day. I was hoping to run into her. I want to know if she is my second chance mate. I went by her room but I didn't smell her. Maybe she went out with her friend Jeni for lunch. My mind is going crazy. Rambo is driving me nuts. I want to tell her I love her. I want her as my mate. I want to spend tonight with her on her back as I taste her sweetness. I want her juices all over my face, and I want my length deep inside of her. As I daydream away, I don't notice my father staring at me puzzled. "Son! Kyle! I need to speak with you. Come to my office now. " I nod and follow my father upstairs. I close the door behind me and sit in the chair in front of his desk.

"Son, I just received word that tomorrow the Lycan King will come for a visit. Apparently he is meeting with the Silver Moon pack Alpha today and decided it would be a good idea to come visit us after. He said he is looking to discuss matters pertaining to goods, travel and lands. Also, a pack was recently attacked by rogues. It was a very small pack, but he wants to discuss it with us. We should be on guard." My father says frustratedly. Last time we had a rogue attack, Ararsi's mom was killed. A growl escapes my lips thinking of what they did to her. My father looks taken back. "I'm sorry father. I am just thinking about the last time rogues attacked our border. The innocent pack members we lost... Ararsi's mom..." I trailed off. "I know, son. The King isn't sure if they will attack. He just warned us to be ready. I will up patrols just to be sure. We do not want a repeat of that attack." he assured me. I know my father loves his pack. He and my mother would lay their lives for this pack. "Is there anything you need from me, father?" I ask. "No Kyle, just make sure you're around to greet the King. As the next Alpha of Blue Moon I want him to know you. Alliances are important, especially with the Lycans and the King." I nod and stand up to leave. "Oh Kyle," my father questions. I turn and look at him. "Have you seen Ararsi today? I know today is her 18th birthday. I was wondering how her shift went and maybe if you happened to be... mates?" He looked me in the eyes, knowing I've been distracted with the same thoughts. "No father I haven't seen her. Though tonight we are going to dinner. So I guess I will have to wait until then." I said sadly and sighed. I wanted to see her badly. Just a few more hours until I meet her for dinner.

*Ararsi*

My phone went off early. It was Jeni sending me the biggest happy birthday text ever. She wanted to meet for brunch, nails, and shopping; all the things I don't normally have time for. I told her I would love too. I got up and showered. I let my hair air dry and threw on some comfortable clothes. I ran down to the buffet table and grabbed an apple. I left the packhouse and walked the 10 minutes to meet her at Silver Moons pack gate. While I was standing there waiting, I got hit with the most delicious scent ever. Mint and chocolate. Where was it coming from? I sniffed the air. I could feel Liana purring in my head. I looked up the driveway and saw a large man get out of an expensive car. The wind blew and the scent hit me harder. He turned and looked at me. Our eyes locked and my heart was in my stomach. What was this feeling? I couldn't really see him from here, but I could tell he was gorgeous. His brown hair was wafting in the wind. He started to walk towards me but I was shaken by Jenila's car horn.

"Um Ararsi, what's with you again girl? Come on! Get in! We have birthday girl things to do!" I broke eye contact with the mystery man and jumped in her car. My wolf whined and I looked out the window and saw him staring at me. I turned to look at Jeni, and she looked puzzled. "You ok?" I nodded. "Of course! It's my birthday! I can't wait to go out with you today! And I met my wolf last night! Her name is Liana and she is gorgeous!! I can't wait for you to meet her one day!" Jeni smiled. "Girl, I can't wait! Now let's get you gorgeous for your big day!"

We spent hours walking around the mall. Jeni treated me to my hair and nails, and I bought some beautiful clothes that accentuated my curves. I found the perfect outfit for tonight. It was a knee length dress with off the shoulder straps. It was sapphire blue, like Liana's eyes. I couldn't wait to put it on. Jeni agreed to drop me off at the restaurant, so I texted Kyle that I would meet him there.

Jeni and I drove back to her packhouse so I could change. She and her parents have a small house just inside of the gate. As we ran inside, I was hit again with the faint smell of mint and chocolate. My heart was racing. Liana was pulling me in a direction I wasn't sure of. But I knew I needed to get this dress on so I could get to Kyle. I run into her room and she helps me get it on. She adjusts my hair and makes sure my make up is perfect. "You're gorgeous girl!" she exclaims. I just blush. I am not used to such compliments. We rush out of the house and get to the restaurant just on time.

I see him standing outside. He takes me in a big hug and we go inside. We are seated at a private table. This restaurant is gorgeous. It is so intricate. I've never seen something like this. I can feel him looking at me. " You look beautiful today, Ararsi. You're gorgeous you know. Happy brithday, my love. I wanted to come here to talk to you." He pauses."Wait, did he just say my love??" I scream internally. What is going on? "Um what about?" I ask hesitantly. "You know I'm taking over as Alpha soon but I need a Luna. I want you as my Luna. I rejected my fated mate for you, Ararsi. I love you. I love you so much. I want you to be my chosen mate."

I could not process what I just heard. All this time I was surprised that Kyle hadn't found his mate. But he did... and he rejected her.. for me.. my head was spinning. How could this be happening. "I wanted to tell you, but I wanted to wait until you were 18. I was hoping the Moon Goddess would make you my second chance mate. But, it doesn't seem like it.." he frowned. He reached over and touched my hand. "You're beautiful. You're smart. I want you as my Luna. The things we could do together for this pack is amazing. We are an amazing team, you know that. Please Ararsi. What do you think?" He begged me. I couldn't speak. I thought I was going to be sick. I wanted to find my mate. My fated mate. This was all too much. I jumped up and ran to the doors. The tears were flowing. How could I have not noticed? All the changes were because of this. He loved me. And I loved him.. but not like this. Not the way he wanted. I wasn't paying attention when I ran into something. I hit the floor with a thud and immediately was engulfed in mint and chocolate. I looked up. It was him! The mystery man from Silver Moon. He helped me up and my wolf purred. "Mate." I panicked and ran through the doors towards the packhouse.
