Her presence

It was four days already since the Queen’s birthday party. Nothing had changed except for the fact that the girl Valerie had been bringing food to my Quarters every morning. I learned a trick: never reject the food she brings. I don’t know if she was keeping an eye on me on behalf of the Queen. Maybe Queen Veronica needed someone that would be very close to monitor my activities, I thought. Maybe that was why she needed Valerie. It was morning and I had woken up like a soldier. A dull light shone through my open windows. I relaxed peacefully on my bed admiring the colorful songbirds perching on my glass windows and some on the frames. When I placed my feet on the floor, I felt cold down there whereas my fingers felt numb. My back arched slightly as I tried to sit up. But I ignored it. I closed my eyes and sighed. I tried to get the feeling of the fresh air. I have never had this moment for a while— a moment with no worries. For a while, I stopped thinking about anything. All my attention was just focused on the birds. I found myself nodding to their chirps as if I understood what they say. This had not been the case earlier. I have had nightmares every night and would always wake up before everyone else. I had always found my body sweating and my heart beating faster than normal. Sometimes, I usually feel like sleeping more but when I try, my eyes wouldn’t even close. Even when my eyes close, my mind would be awake, listening to my surrounding. I usually see things in my dreams that would want to make me sad but that was not even the scariest thing. The scariest thing was, whenever I woke up, I found myself shedding tears or at the very least, I found my eyes heavy and swollen. It felt so real and disturbing. But this morning was different. It was the opposite of those horrific nightmares I have always had. There was a gentle knock on my door. I shifted my glance to the door. I couldn’t predict who it was. It had always been Brady most of the time anyway. “Who is it?” I asked, gently. But there was no response! Was it Brady or was it, Valerie? I wasn’t sure. “Come on in, the door is not closed,” I said. I looked back to catch the spectacular view one more time. I didn’t pay attention to the door. Someone walked in gently and bolted the door. Who could open my door and still closed it? I turned around immediately to see who had opened the door but surprisingly, it wasn't what I had expected. It was Vera! What a surprise? She hadn’t gone back yet, I reasoned. Why is she still here? I asked myself. “Good morning," she said. "My Prince." she greeted with the most seductive voice I have ever heard. She was on a blue transparent nightgown that hangs from her shoulders to somewhere below her waist. It was so transparent that her red undergarments were aggressively shining through the short nightie. “Vera,” I sighed. “What are you doing here?” I asked. My jaw dropped, I was surprised to see her. Or was it the outfit that surprised me? Well, I wasn't sure. “Should I answer that while standing? Anon?” “You. . . Oh! Sorry, come! Have a seat,” I said, gesturing to a wooden back chair just beside me. She winked flirtatiously at me. She began walking toward me, her lower lip sucked inside her mouth. Surprisingly, my body began to throb as I glanced at her buxom set of breasts wagging side by side. I thought I could focus my gaze elsewhere to keep my hungry eyes away but it fell accidentally each time on her t**s that pointed to heaven. Why would she wear this type of dress? Oh Goodness! I watched as she gently threw her perfect set of bowlegs on the floor in a quiet motion. I wish I knew what she was up to this time, I thought. She leaned close to me, I couldn’t even move. She grabbed my neck aggressively with both hands raised her legs to get to my height, and gave me a long passionate kiss, longer than the last time. I stood there looking, doing absolutely nothing while she had her eyes closed. Her lips tasted like butter and her warm breath rattled over my nose, tickling me. I couldn’t breathe at that moment, I couldn’t even feel my hands, I had never done this before and I had no idea what to do. “Are you going to just stand there staring at me all day? You have refused to kiss back, why?” she asked softly, still holding my neck. She was expecting me to react but I failed to. One part of me out of curiosity wanted to but the other side wouldn’t allow me. I still haven’t been able to breathe. I didn’t even know what to say to her. “Prince. . . Anon.” she seductively called my name again, but this time, slowly. “What a beautiful man you are!” she caressed me with her finger as she bit her lips. “Am I?” I was confused. Had Vera confirmed the rumours? Was it true that I truly look like a woman or what? This was a sad reality if it turns out to be true, I thought. Or was she telling me that I was handsome? As if she heard me, “You have not heard? You are the most handsome man I have ever set my eyes on Prince Anon. You are pure beauty, Anon. Believe me, I am ready to do anything. I mean anything to be the woman of your dream,” she paused and brought her left finger on my brows. She caressed me gently there. I just found myself staring at her flickering curly eyelashes helplessly. I didn’t even know what to say or do exactly. “Only if you will take my hands, Anon then I promise you, I will be by your side forever. To be honest, I couldn’t get enough sleep lately and each time I want to, all I think about is you. Do you want to know what I see in my dream?” Her dream? What was in her dream? I was curious. “Yes.” “I see a man with tall dark hair like that of a woman. A man whose lips glimmered like a cherry but tasted like an orange. I see a man who had the most inviting eyes, the most catchy appearance, the most subtle personality I have ever seen and that man is you. You. . . you can melt the heart of any woman. If you melted mine this easily then trust me, no matter how hard the heart of the woman is, even a stony heart would break at your embrace. You might think that I am exaggerating things but, to be honest, I don’t easily fall for men. But there’s one thing I know for sure. When I fall for someone, I will do anything to keep the person by my side. I mean, I will do everything to keep you by my side.” She caressed my lower lip. “Would you be mine, Anon?” She asked. The question came as a shock again. This girl is brave, I thought. I might have imagined how it would be for me to possibly woo a girl but here, a girl was willfully doing the job. If I haven’t been able to do this as a man, then I don’t think I will be able to do it as a woman either. I looked at Vera’s eyes, it was filled with curiosity. “Vera, someone might see us,” I said, still unable to breathe normally. “You don’t need to worry, the door is closed.” I almost forgot. She bolted the door when she came in. Now I get it, she had this in mind before even coming here, I thought. I was expecting to see Valerie any moment from now but it seemed like Vera had it in mind that someone might come in so she probably closed the door to prevent that from happening. One part of me really wanted to explore more about her. She was hot and sexy, beautiful, with a luscious body physique. She smelled like caramel oil and her lips were as soft as a loaf of bread. But why did I freeze? Why didn’t I react to her touch? Why didn't I kiss her back? If I had fondled her pointed breast, would she have accepted it with an open mind? And why wasn’t I reacting? Was it because I was scared of doing things like that or was it just because there was something about her that doesn’t fit so well with my desires? Dozens of questions came to my mind. Some of them didn’t even make much sense to me. Finally, there was a knock on my door. “I will take it.” I gestured with my hands to the door. I loved the distraction. She let her hands fall slowly, caressing my jaw and chest as she brought them down from my neck. I felt like gifting something to anybody it was in my door. The person unknowingly saved me from a situation I was confused about. I opened the door. “Valerie!” “Good morning your Highness,” she greeted and bowed. As expected, she was carrying my breakfast. “I have brought you your food Your Highness, where should I place it this time?” she asked. Like before, her face was void of emotion. I gestured with my hands to the table. She went past Vera without even uttering a word to her or looking at her. She turned and tried to leave. “Would you mind uh, cleaning that bookshelf for me, it is too dusty?” I asked, pointing at my bookshelf. I didn’t want her to leave so soon. Vera could still take advantage of the situation, I thought. “Would that be now or later your Highness?” Valerie asked. “Now please,” I said, “grab a seat Princess!” I said gesturing with my hand. I kept my face calm and tried to pretend as nothing happened. I sat on my bed waiting for her to sit on the stool but she didn’t. She sat very close to me. “So, where are your parents? Have they gone back?” “Yes.” She declared. “Uhm, what about you, when will you travel back?” “After getting what I want,” she finally answered after keeping quiet for a while. I knew exactly what she meant by what she wanted. I didn’t want to pretend not to because Valerie was still in the room. “Would you love some breakfast? I have some to spare.” “Thanks but I am okay.” I became lost. I didn’t know what else to say to her. I was buying time but I know it wouldn’t last. I needed to do something that would keep her busy or keep me busy before Valerie is done with her cleaning, I thought. Besides, my bookshelves weren’t dirty nor dusty, so there was nothing much Valerie would tidy up. “Do you love to play the game of cards? I asked. She seemed to give it thought. “Hmm, yes! I would try it.” “Perfect!” I brought out the cards where I hung them at the headboard top rail of my bed. “I am done, Your Highness!” Valerie interrupted. I transferred my gaze at her, she was robbing her hands gently. “Come and grab a seat!” I said, gesturing at the stool beside me. Confusion flared in her eyes. “Sit-sit where exactly your Highness?” Valerie asked. “Exactly. Sit where exactly Prince Anon?” Vera asked, with a strong commanding voice.
