For the next two days, while the others worked on portal removal plans, Beryl stewed. She thought of the hours she had sat in the car with Mandy. Granted most of it she spent teaching, but there were times when they sat and chatted—women sharing men’s stuff. She realized now there was very little sharing, just her going on about Legless and Mandy pumping her for more info. Beryl had been done over like a kipper, played like a deck of cards.
