Deidre stared at the door. It was tantalizing ajar. The cupboard was more than a cupboard; it was a small room lined with shelves of upturned trolleys, oiling implements, and the occasional mechanical mop or broom thrown in by a cleaner who couldn’t be arsed to walk down the end of the corridor to the cleaner cupboard to put it away. Situated on the same floor as the room with a view, it had been easy for the leadership team to shoggle her there, and Deidre figured it would be just as easy for her to shoggle back. All she needed was something to win over those so-called leaders. She could hear panic in the corridors, footmen shuffling . . . H2 demanding extra caffeine. With no idea about the Rubik’s Cube, Deidre had quickly come up with a plan that could wangle her a place in the room
