When she arrived at the border of Kamloops she needed to cross the Thomspon River which that morning had a strong current.
Alyra was hesitating to cross the river, but there was no other way. She descended slowly in the cold river, and started to doggy paddle as hard as she could but however when she reached the middle the current was getting too strong. Her head started going below the water, and she strained hard to stay afloat with her wolf muscles burning, and starting to cramp. She gave her last of her will power to push on, with water getting into her mouth and nose she didn't know she could make it.
Finally she found a tree stuck on the river floor, and she climbed on the tree to catch her breath, and with a final push she made it to a low bank area that she was able to climb over.
Alyra and ChiChi was drained and could hardly move, but they had no choice they were in human territory, and needed a place to hide so they could recover from the river crossing.
Being in human city was a dangerous enough, but they needed to get to Peterson Creek Park, and they knew humans will see them.
Alyra and ChiChi trying to stay clear of the main traffic and decided to cross through back alley's would be the best option. However her white wolf sticks out like a sore thumb, people in the area where she was crossing seen her, a lot said " how beautiful she was", others threw stuff at her to chase her away.
After walking for hours a news crew finally found her, and was recording her movements threw the city, still tired and drained from the river crossing, and unable to keep going she laid down in a backyard of someone home and pass out.
With the news crew still trailing her, and recording her location. They talked about her being the first siting in 10 yrs that a wolf traveled this far, and being a white wolf at that is rare.
They encourage people not to approach the white wolf, and let her go to her destination in peace.
After sleeping for 2 hours in someone back yard, Alyra finally got up and headed for Peterson Creek Park.
People in the area were conflicted by having a wolf in there park, especially when people go there to walk the trails with family, and their pets.
The mare of Kamloops setup a town council meeting to address the appearance of the wolf, and were the wolf is at the moment.
