Weapons Training Part 2

After dinner Sam and Alyra went back to the armory. Sam gave her another box of bullets and laid down beside her. He told her to take a deep breath and relax. "Just before you fire hold your breath then fire". When she fired the rifle she hit the first big black ring, Sam said "better".

They practice for another 4 hours, and Alyra finally hit in the second blue circle close to the bullseye. Sam said "Getting there just need to practice more, but you are doing good". Alyra helped Sam clean the rifle with Sam instructions, and put Baretta M82 away in its proper place.

Sam told her "after supper you can do what you want, you need a break and come back at it again tomorrow". Alyra said "okay, I will go and find Alex after supper, so he can teach me more about reading". Sam said "you can't read? I never knew that. Well good luck and see you tomorrow morning then". Alyra hugged Sam and went for supper.

After 2 months of practice Alyra can finally hit a moving and still target in the proper place. Sam asked her "are you ready to move on?" Alyra said "yup, and what is next?" Sam replied "Beretta M9 is our handguns of choice here".

Sam took out 2 Beretta M9 with 4 boxes of bullets and lead Alyra to the gun range. I will explain the handguns to you a bit before we start practicing with them.

"The M9 is a short recoil, semi-automatic, single-action or double-action pistol that uses a 15 round staggered box magazine with a reversible magazine release button that can be positioned for either right or left-handed shooters. Also these guns are modified with a chip to allow voice command to load your guns instead of the standard style".

Sam said "let me enter your voice into our computer system, and activate your gun for voice command". After 10 minutes on the computer Alyra Beretta M9 was ready for her to use.

Sam showed her how to stand to shoot her M9, then told her to control her breathing and tell the gun to load. Alyra said "load", the gun started loading on its own. Alyra said "cool", Sam laughed with a big smile.

After spending 3 months with the M9 she was capable of a kill shot with a still or moving target.

The next morning in the kitchen Sam, Caleb and Alex were making a bet on Alyra ability to shoot a target. Sam says "you want to lose your money go ahead, but my money is on Alyra".

Sam setup a contest between Alex and Alyra to see who can hit the bullseye the most with one magazine full of bullets for the sniper rifle, and handguns.

Sam setup stations for the Baretta M82's sniper rifles, and another station for the Beretta M9 handguns.

Sam told Alyra at breakfast the contest will start at 12:00 noon at the gun range. Alyra said to Alex "good luck your going to need it", Alex laughed and said "bring it on little girl".

Sam explain the rules to both contestants, which are 10 minutes at each station with one magazine for each weapon. May the best person win with a wink towards Alyra. Caleb timed at the first station while Sam did the second one.

After both were done Sam gave the results. Alyra got 24 hits perfect and Alex had 23. Alyra said "it was really close, and thanks for the fun", to Alex.

Sam turned to Alyra and said "tomorrow you are going to learn hand to hand combat using a knife, so get some rest". Alyra looked at Sam and said "looking forward to it, and goodnight Sam".
