"Lotus, what the hell are you doing?" I yelled as he crashed into the wall. Paintings tumbled to the floor, the sound of shattering glass ringing in my ears, and the unmistakable scent of blood filled my nostrils.
"Stop! Stop this madness!" I ordered. "There's no way we can find her in this state!"
He shook his head, struggling to his feet as a burning sensation radiated from my left side. A deep cut was embedded in my shoulder. He winced, pressing his hand against the wall for support, his eyes wild with desperation.
