Lilly's POV
Every bone in my body protested; even my hair stood on end. My entire being warned me of the danger lurking around me. My instincts screamed for me to run, to hide, yet something deeper urged me to stand my ground.
As he narrowed the circle, my breath caught; the rapid pounding of my heart made it difficult to breathe properly, causing me to gasp for air like a drowning fish, feeling faint.
Is that how real fear feels? Every nerve in my body was on high alert, adrenaline coursing through me like wildfire.
"Goddess," I silently prayed. "I don't want to die tonight! Not like this!"
Yet, I couldn't bring myself to move. I was hypnotized by his mere presence; drawn to him like a moth to a flame, my fingers itched to reach out and touch him.
