I have never seen the pack members this upset. Most of them didn’t even glance at Sade when she entered; others shot her enraged glares. Her presence undoubtedly ignited a flurry of emotions, and I could sense the tension thickening in the atmosphere.
I knew I had to intervene before things escalated further, but how could I calm them down when their anger was so palpable?
I took a seat on the small stage at the back of the dining room, the usual venue for our internal announcements and meetings.
As I cleared my throat, the room fell silent, all eyes now on me. I hoped my voice would carry enough authority to soothe their frayed nerves and restore some semblance of order to the chaos unfolding before us.
