Chapter 9

Allen has been walking for 20 minutes when he feel the muscle of his feet and injured knee in pain.Its already 10 o'clock in the evening.There's not much car passing by that hour.He left his cellphone in his house so there's no way for him to call someone to pick him up.He sigh at least the tenth times he sighed while walking.He look around him and saw a convenient store.

" Better take some rest.." he said to himself.

The door chime when he enter.

"Good evening welc...Allen!.." Allen stop on his track and look to the counter.

He saw Raven waving at him with his big all white teeth visible smile.

Allen duck his head and sigh.

"So annoying.." he continue to walk to the drinks and get one bottled water.

"What are you doing here?.." when he go near the counter to pay Raven ask him still smiling.

"Lost.."

"Your lost?.."

"Yeah.." and leave the counter after giving his payment.Allen sit outside the convenient store where there is bleacher and table.Still thinking what is he going to do to go home.

"Boss I'm out.." Raven shout to the man in the counter while walking out the door.

He saw Allen sitting outside and sit beside him.

" Waiting for me?.."he said approaching Allen.

Allen looked at him with a raised eyebrow and sit away.

"So who are you waiting?.."Raven ask starring at Allen.His not used to see him with a bad boy aura from the way he looked at his clothes now.A peircing,all black and with a cap.He also look like he came from a fight with some dirt and scratch from his face.But he didn't comment on it.Allen is always neat and proper in wearing school uniform.

"Its what.."

"Huh?.."

" What I'm waiting..its What,..and stop starring at me." and Allen looked at him straight in the eyes.He know that Raven is studying him.

" Ah..hehehe.."Raven avert his gaze and scratch the back of his head.

"What are you waiting then?.."

" Taxi.."

" Taxi?..you need to wait tell morning for a taxi to drove by at this hour in here.."

Allen sigh.

" So annoying.."he said with an irritated tone.

"Just call your driver.."Raven said and look at him.

" I left my phone.."

" Ummm.. where do you live?.."

" E City.."

" Thats a bit far,.."he said contemplating on something then he stand up.

"Ok let's go!.."

Allen look at him bewildered.

"I'll send you home.."

" Forget it!." Allen said and sighed.

"Why not?..I can't let a friend sleep here!.."

"Were not friends!.." Allen said annoyed.

" Oh!..Your such a drama queen!.." he said and pull Allen up.Allen surprised by his action almost trip but Raven steady him.

"Let's go!.." not waiting for his response he pull Allen in his risk where his motorcycle park.

"Wear this!.."Raven reached him his extra helmet.

Allen still reluctant didn't reach the helmet.

" Fine..I'll do it then.."he said and attempt to put the helmet to Allen.

Allen grab it on his hand and put it himself.

Raven chuckled by his action.

" Let's go!.." Raven ride to his motorcycle first and wait for Allen to ride.Though uncomfortable Allen hold to Raven.

Raven stop at the front gate of Allen's house.

" This is your house?.."Raven ask with amazement in his voice.

Allen just nod at him.

"Thanks.." he said while reaching the helmet back to Raven.

" Sure..ah wait!.."Allen stop his track and turned to face Raven who still on his bike.

"What?.."

"Umm...come a bit closer.."

"Huh?!.."

" Eh..just come closer.."Raven said gesturing his hand for Allen to walk closer to him.

"What?.."Allen ask but walk closer to him.

Raven reach in one of his jacket pocket and when he fish out what his looking for he put it on Allen's face.

"There!.."Raven said smiling.

Allen touch his cheeks where Raven attached the bandaid.

"See you tomorrow!.."Raven said and wave to Allen with to fingers touching his forehead before he rode away.

Allen stunned by Raven action still holding his cheek looking his direction untill he vanish in his sight.Before he turned around and walk inside the house shaking his head.

Allen go straight in his room when he reach the house.He look unto his cellphone and dialed Citrus.When Citrus answered and told him that Andrew is already there he cut the call after saying there goodbyes.

After the call he go straight the bathroom and take a bath.Cleaning his self when he walk in front of the mirror he saw the bandaid that Raven put in his cheeks.

"Silly.."he said and smile.

Raven reached there apartment.There apartment located in the East side of S City. It is a commercial place.A lot of apartment and building surrounding there place.He live in the third floor of the building together with his father.He didn't bother to knock when he reach the door of there apartment there is no elevator on that building so there only option is to walk.When he opened the door the room is well lit.He know that his father is already home seeing his shoes in the door step.His father own a car repair shop few block from there home.They have a lot of customer, since there shop was already been there before he was even born.

" Dad I'm home.." he shout striding inside the house.

"Your late eh?.."he heard his voice coming from the living room.

Raven walk to the living room and saw his father watching basketball while drinking alcohol.

"I help a friend.."

" There's food in the table eat it.."

"I eat cup noodles on the store.."

" I told you to stop eating instant noodles.. why don't you listen its bad for your health.."

" And I told you to stop drinking alcohol its bad for you.."he said and walk inside his room.

" I'm already old,..but your still young.." Mr Dela torre said still looking at the tv screen.

But Raven already inside his room.Mr Dela torre shake his head.

Raven put his bag in the side of his room and lay down on his bed.He rest for a bit before going in to the bathroom.There bathroom is located outside his room.He will walk pass the living room before he reach the bathroom.

" Dad,get inside your room and sleep."he said when he walk pass him seeing him already drunk and sleepy.

He only respond with a humm.Raven sigh and went inside the bathroom. When he walk outside the bathroom he saw his dad slouching in the feet of the long couch.He shake his head and went to his father's room.He get him a cover and fix him on the long couch before he cover his body.He cleaned the bottle of alcohol and some left over food in the living room before he go back to his room.His father started to drink every night when his mother died when he was in six grade. He reasoned to him that he can't sleep at night.But he know his father,his just missing his mom and his not used to sleep alone anymore.Raven took his bag in the side of the room and rummage his school assignment.Though his always sleeping in the class and always skipping in first subject he always do his homework.He has a high IQ and good memory.He also have the habit to read all of his books in all subject before the start of school year.Thats why before the teacher teach to them the things written on the book he already know.His is a genius to say the least and what people call him.He was,from kinder to six grade he rank no.1 in everything academics or extra curricular activities in school hence he became the center of bullying.People hates people smarter that them,they turn to violence and thats why his always bullied.Until he meet a friend.His first and only friend back in seventh grade.His always alone and no friend in First to Six grade.

The first and only person who approach him when his alone in his seat and stand before him when he was being bullied.

"What the use of being a geniuse if you cant protect your self?.." He once said to him.

And so he stop being the Genius, though he still maintain his high grades but he stop being rank no.1.He started to learn to fight, outside or inside the school he always get into a fight.But this time he didnt need to run or hide anymore.
