"Please, it's been forever since we went camping," Doty beams. Kian nods softly, and they all disappear into the woods, leaving me with my mate. He sits beside me, both of us silent.
His friends don't take long to return with firewood, and they work quickly to build a fireplace.
"Nara, join us!" Doty calls me over.
"No," I grumble. I feel Kian's gaze on me, but I don't catch his gaze.
They are sitting around a campfire, and it's getting dark; that little traitor, Echo, has left me to sit close to the fire too. Talk of betrayal.
