After her battle with Linda the previous night about the millionaire Jacob Steiner or something and let us not forget the wine she drank on her own without sharing they concluded that it was just one of those stupid rumors. It would fade with time especially if it is not fed. Linda's exact words. Cassie wished it was true because as soon as she got to work the next day it was like she was going into a movie premiere because of one thing. Paparazzi. Cameras flashed in broad daylight making Cassie wonder what for. Microphones were shoved in her face. It was like she had become the hottest celebrity overnight. As if that was not a nightmare on its own she got to her floor only to be called in by her manager. The company could not handle her fame and her co-workers felt very uncomfortable with the media outside pushing and pulling for a glimpse of her. Mr. Barlow looked at her over his spectacles seemingly not knowing how to phrase what he intended to say. Cassie, although rude and brass was a good employee. She was punctual and worked without any problems. Until now that is. It was not really a problem but for the sake of peace, Mr. Barlow had to act. "Miss Mitchell I assure you this was not something I wanted especially as one of our valued agents but after more than half the workers complained. And the disturbance faced when entering the building today I'm sorry to say this. We have to let go of you until at least the whole fiasco ends." "So I'm on suspension?" Cassie asked "More like fired until further notice." Mr.Barlow said in one breath. "Sir, I do not think that's is a thing. Either I'm on suspension or I'm fired. " "I'm sorry, but please clear your desk and exit the floor in the next hour." His face did show he was sympathetic. "Thank you for being so nice about it Mr. Barlow but I already saw Harold's smug expression and I know he opened his big mouth." The damn asshole must have rallied a few others to go complain making it seem like a big issue. The older man kept quiet confirming Cassie's assumption. She smiled at the old man and got up. "It was nice working with you, sir." "Good luck Miss Mitchell." Cassie smiled her thanks to the old man and left his office. She went to her desk and packed up the few personal belongings she had. It was not much just her coffee mug, a potted cactus a colleague had given her as a Christmas present, books, and her work diary. When she turned to go Harold was standing by her cubicle obviously waiting to brag. "You have done it now huh. I to....." "Shut up you piece of s**t. I know you caused all this so before I go let me remind you of a few things you seem to forget. You think because you have the title of supervisor you are superior to us. News flash you are not. You get the same pay, same hours, and same work so your position means s**t. So stop prancing around here like a peacock in heat and grow the f**k up. Take time to bathe and groom yourself maybe then you won't have to manipulate female co-workers to date you. " By the time she was done Harold and her colleagues who were close by stared at her in shock. She was never social, she did not talk much and kept to herself. Yes, she was sometimes rude but she never went head-on with anyone. So dressing down Harold was a shock. She put her purse in the box and walked out of their floor with her head held high but with her anger still raging. She wanted to beat something or someone up. Jake casually strolled to the reception area aware of all the attention directed at him. He was used to it, media scrambling for a comment, women fawning over him, and men wishing to know him. It was all in a day's work for him. He saw the paparazzi outside the building and was happy his plan was already falling into place. Although he exuded his normal confidence outside, inside he questioned his sanity and pushed himself not to turn tails. All because he refused to let her get her way. Jake was a tad mischievous most of the time but this was not just a game anymore. Well, to him it wasn't a game. He walked up to the receptionist and gave her one of his panty-dropping smiles. " Hi, I'm he-...." "OMG, it's you. Let me guess you are here to see her, Cassie. I could not believe my eyes when I read that our own dear Cassie was dating the Jake Stone. I was like-..." "YOU !" A voice screeched making him turn around. He found just the girl he was looking for holding a box and throwing flames at him with her eyes. Jake smirked, she was still as gorgeous as he remembered. And she was perfect. She put the box down and bent down and started fiddling with her shoe while hopping on one leg. Jake thought maybe she stepped into something again. Cassie straightened and hurled an object at his head. Jake managed to dodge it, he looked back and saw it was a shoe. She threw a shoe at him. He turned back to her amused only to be smacked on the forehead, hard, with the other shoe. But it was not enough for her, now barefoot Cassie stomped towards him hands raised ready to inflict more damage. Jake's eyes widened when he realized she was coming for him. He took a few steps to meet her, grabbed her arms before they attacked, and kissed her. "No, I will not let your kisses put me in a stupid trance again. Do you have any f*****g idea what you have done.?" "My kisses put you in a trance?" Jake asked with a smirk. "Why you -..." He kissed her again. This time the kiss was deep and unyielding she could not help but drown in it. When he pulled away she was definitely in a trance. Jake took advantage of her daze, and picked her up, and threw her on his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. That woke her up. "What the f**k. Put me down you f*****g spawn of the devil." Jake chuckled at how true it almost was. When she started pounding on his back s*****d her making her gasp. "Behave sweetheart we have an audience outside." "How dare you." "You have nice ass babe." He s*****d her again. " Hmm, nice and firm." He saw they had created an audience and he smiled. Turning to the receptionist he winked at her. " by the way blondie can you organize for her shoes and box to be sent to my office." When he saw the happy face on the girl at the invitation to his office, he added. "Just leave it with the doorman." "Jonathan Steiner put me down this instance." "I can't do that babe." "Why the hell not?" "That's not my name. I'm gonna do a Rumplestilskin on you. If you guess my name I will let you go." Jake said they walked to his car. His bodyguard in front clearing the way for him. Jack Stoker?" "Nope." "John Stope ?" "Nope again. Wow, you really do not know my name. Or maybe you are pretending so that I don't let go. " "Listen here James Stormer or whatever the f**k you are called, let me go." "Ok." Jake put her down only to dump her on the passenger seat of his car. When she opened her mouth to tell him off he kissed her. When he felt her kiss back he pulled away and smiled. He buckled her in, put in the child lock, and closed her door. By the time he had rounded to his side, she was back to her glaring. "I hate you." Jake gave her his signature millionaire smile. "Impossible."
