I didn’t go back to my room. It was probably the first place Elias would look for me if he wanted to find me. Instead, I went down a random hallway. I had no idea where I was going, but I kept my head high like I knew the halls well and kept moving. Every few minutes, I’d pass an unassuming guard or maid who would bow to me and walk past. Still, I didn’t stop or ask for directions. I just kept walking until I found myself at the end of a hallway. There was a pair of wooden double doors with a sigil branded on it in front of me. It should’ve been my sign to turn back, but instead, I found myself heading towards the doors. I reached for the handle and surprisingly, it was open. I wasn’t sure what I was expecting, but a dark room was not the case. It took me a second to find the light
