I heard screaming, but I ignored it, heading straight for the smoky building. The first thing I realized was how hard it was to breathe. I covered my mouth with my hands, but it didn’t do much. The smoke had filled the hallway and I could barely see, but I kept going. I went deeper into the building, where I assumed the fire was coming from. There was a map at the entrance of the building that said the classes were at the back of the school… I could only hope that the fire wasn’t too bad there. “Landon!” I yelled. “Where are you?” I didn’t get a response so I kept moving.
