Carlos didn’t turn back, so I instantly assumed the worst. I unpacked my bags slowly, waiting for the moment that Elias would burst into my room demanding an answer. Every second seemed like an eternity. Time seemed to move by even slower. I couldn’t tell if it was my anxiety or if it truly was just moving a bit slower.
