✍🏽 Murray Scene (Hidden Perspective Insert)
(This happens somewhere after Chapter 5, short and unsettling)
Murray stood alone in the hallway.
Still.
Quiet.
The apartment behind him was silent now.
Killian hadn’t moved in minutes.
He tilted his head slightly—listening.
Not to the room.
To something else.
His phone buzzed once in his hand.
He didn’t look at it immediately.
When he did, the screen was already open.
A message sat there.
No contact name.
No number.
Status?
Murray’s eyes didn’t change.
His expression didn’t shift.
Unstable. Progressing faster than expected.
He typed slowly.
Precisely.
The reply came instantly.
Can he tell?
Murray paused.
Just for a second.
His gaze drifted toward the closed door behind him.
Toward Killian.
Not yet.
A pause.
Then—
Maintain position. Do not break pattern.
Murray read it once.
Then locked the phone.
His reflection stared back at him briefly on the black screen.
Perfect.
Unmoving.
✍🏽 Killian Realization Snippet
“…There’s someone,” Killian said quietly.
Gibson frowned. “Someone?”
Killian nodded slowly.
His eyes weren’t steady anymore.
They kept shifting. Thinking. Connecting.
“Someone’s controlling this,” he continued. “Watching. Changing things.”
Gibson leaned forward slightly.
“Killian—”
“No, listen,” Killian cut in. “It’s not random. It’s too precise.”
His breathing slowed.
His thoughts… sharpened.
For the first time—
they aligned.
“It’s someone close,” he said.
Gibson went still.
“Close enough to watch me… without being noticed.”
Killian’s gaze lifted slowly.
Toward the hallway.
Toward the apartment.
Toward—
Murray.
“…It’s him,” Killian said
