To say I was surprised would be an understatement. I never pegged him as the kind of man who would say or do such a thing. I've come to realize that he was the most misunderstood person I had ever met. He had acted so coldly towards me and I thought he was a rude jerk which made me reciprocate the feeling but meanwhile, deep down he actually liked me. He liked me enough to keep a meaningless hairpin.
