Genevieve's POV
I woke up to the sound of a beeping machine. I groaned, feeling my head throbbing in pain. My right hand also hurt. It felt like something sharp was sticking through it and I could feel the liquid passing through my vein.
"Miss Gonzales? Are you okay?" I heard a muffled voice asking. In my haze, I knew it was Owen. He was the only one who called me by that name.
"Are you blind? Can't you see she's awake," another voice replied rudely. I slowly opened my eyes. The sudden beam of lights made me squint immediately.
"I told you not to leave the blinds open. Look how you've hurt her eyes," Nolan said, rushing to shut the blinds. My back felt sore so I tried to get up.
"Be careful. Let me help you," Owen said gently, helping me up.
