The dukes bowed again and filed out of the throne room. Daph leaned in to whisper in Meryl’s ears.
“I know you are upset, your majesty but you will scare them with that face. I’m sure Duke Hephit would be fine so, please smile”
“Like this?” she raised her head, a neat smile on her face. There was nothing wrong with it but those who had seen the queen’s radiant smile could tell something was wrong. Especially the person coming in next.
