19 The hangar doors opened without warning. Red and yellow lights flashed throughout the laboratory. The remaining gas and smoke moved through the parting doors. Blue sky and the spaceport glistened beyond. Guards screamed, turning toward the far side of the room. Austin followed their gaze. Val crouched behind a station, a small pistol in her hand. She gave a thumbs-up, pointing toward the hangar doors. He smiled. She nodded, standing over the control board and firing at the guards. A blue surge of electricity sizzled, catching all of the computers on fire. The raging flames spread, igniting the facility and transforming the hangar into an inferno. In another minute, the complex would be nothing but a smoldering pile of rubble, erasing the Wraith project from existence. Austin tilted
