I'm sorry Bri, Leah said as she stood up trying to reach out to Brittany, okay I'm listening, Brittany stared at her motioning her to go on. Fine, Leah breathe in.

I'm sorry I couldn't call back yesterday when we got back from the hospital my battery died and I was way too exhausted to charge it and somehow I slept off, I said to Brittany whilst trying to maintain a crying face.

So what happened, how's Lilith? She's okay, holding up. Leah tried to sound positive.

The doctor said Lilith needed surgery, if Leah tried to to explain without crying but she couldn't, I'm scared Bri, don't know what to do, the doctor said we need to pay $19500 for her surgery, and it's even subsidized.

Leah couldn't hold the tears anymore, she tried to open her mouth but tears just kept dropping, she'd been holding it in way too long.

How are we even going to get that kind of money Bri, we already used all we had to pay hospital bills, how, tell me how Leah sniffed, Mom does work for the government how is she going to get a loan, even if she does they won't give her up to that amount.

Leah, Everything will be fine you'll see, Brittany tried to console her, while she wrapped her hands around her as they both sprawled on the ground.

After a few mins passed, Brittany broke the silence, “ Leah let's take a walk, no I don't want to Leah said while trying to withdraw, come you need it Brittany insisted, I won't let you off easily just so u know, you either come calmly or I’ll force u Brittany said while trying to pull her off the ground as she stood up.

Fine, Leah stood up. Yeah! that's the spirit girl, Brittany cheered into the misty air which was rather awful, and then Leah rolled her eyes at her.

They were both seen walking on the streets talking about places they'll take Lilith to when she's finally okay. They both got back home after some hours tidied the house and then Brittany decided to get back home since it was evening, they both hugged each other and Brittany left.

Trying to prepare for tonight's dinner Leah thought of making pasta. She just finished cooking and tidying when she heard footsteps approaching. Ding dong the doorbell rings.

Oh! Hi Mom. How are you doing today? I try to uplift her spirit. “ Fine,” she said looking downhearted. Mom! Everything is gonna be okay I know it, I can feel it, Mom, you remember the doctor said we're lucky, it's in her early stage Mom, so all she needs is the surgery and she’ll be fine. Leah tried to encourage her mother

Okay dear, Selena responded faintly she was way too tired to even express herself. Common mom let's eat I made pasta and it's getting cold.

They both ate and went to bed.

Leah woke up feeling good today, she was preparing to go to work. Leah had a part-time job tutoring Mary, Mary is the daughter of Mr & Mrs. Luke.

Mrs. Luke is a beautiful woman but she got married to an old man, quite grumpy, has a protruded belly, and a stale breath. Yeah! Leah found that out the previous day when Mr Luke tried to force himself on her but she escaped.

She couldn't complain to her mom coz it would mean that she needed to stop tutoring Mary but then they needed the money.

When Leah arrived at work that day, she found Mrs Luke at home which was quite unusual, although surprised to see her she still greeted her but then without responding to the greeting Mrs Luke called. Leah, Mrs. Luke called out like she was going to lash out at her any minute, follow me, we need to talk.

When they got to the study Mrs Mary went straight to the point. I have to stop you from coming to my house Leah, my husband said you tried to seduce him not only yesterday, but you did cross the line yesterday.

“You dirty scumbag, how dare you? After I let you come into my house, you bring in your cheap life you w***e, now “get out”.

But ma’ Leah tried to explain but she cut her, no need to explain Leah, you better leave this minute before I lose it.

I walked out of their residence with mixed feelings, glad I stopped working there but also worried because we needed to raise money.

Ever since that happened a week ago, I've been homesick, all I do is stay at home or go to the hospital and o see Lilith.

Yeah! That reminds me. Ever since Mr. Luke has been harassing me I was able to sign up on a job site.

That's how I bumped into the job of being a surrogate mother.

Although there are other jobs there, that one, definitely meets up to the amount Leah needs, even more than. I need to have a call with Brittany at least, and tell her what I think cause the deadline is in two days. Leah suddenly remembered.

Hi! Bri, how u doing, are you free today? Uhm… what is it, what do u want? Brittany asked slowly and that made Leah chuckle. “What is it Bri, can’t I call to check up on you”? No, it’s not that Brittany argued. Okay fine, Leah replied, pls can you come over, there’s something I want to show you.

Alright! Copy that, I’m on my way. Brittany learned a skill online so she had to round up her online classes before she went to get a taxi, luckily for her Leah wasn’t home, so before she could get to Leah's place, Leah already got home.

When Brittany got to Leah's place they started talking, Leah told her how Mrs Luke fired her because she thinks she’s seducing her, what! Brittany screamed, what the hell! Leah u shouldn’t even let him go free you should report him, that man is a pervert. “No Bri” I’ve got no evidence, plus I’m glad this is all over, the only problem is the money we need.
