My eyes on her

1201 Words
Damien I had planned to visit the hospital in the morning but my attorney had called me to come in the office. I wasn't very pleased with it but I decided to stop by the office on my way to see Catherine. When I arrived several people had something to adress with me and it was already afternoon when I got out. It took way longer than I had thought. Normally I didn't spend that much time in the office since I had employees to take care of my businesses, which mostly included a few restaurants, bars and hotels. My time went mostly on trying to solve the situation with Stefano and the other rogues. I arrived at the hospital around 5pm and went straight to her ward. I was a bit irritated at how long it took to get there but seeing her would make me feel better. A nurse sat on the station going through her papers and was a bit startled when I greeted her. "Hi, I came to visit Catherine Winters. I brought her here yesterday and I'd like to see her again. Is she still in the same room as yesterday?" I asked and smiled to make her feel a bit more comfortable. "I'm sorry sir. She was released a couple hours ago." She answered me. Dammit! I knew it was a mistake to go to the office today. Now I was too late to see her here. "May I get her address, please? I want to make sure that she is okay." I really needed to see her. Everything about her made me feel a bit nervous and I wanted to understand why there was such a strong impact when I touched her. I could still feel how the electricity had struck on me when I touched her smooth and pale skin. "I'm sorry sir, but we can't…" The nurse said and before she could continue, I leaned over the desk and touched her hand. "Of course sir. Let me write it down for you." She continued, wrote Catherine's address down and handed the paper to me. I took the note and left without saying anything. She wouldn't remember giving the address to me. Catherine didn't live very far from the hospital so I walked to her apartment building. When I arrived at her house I was debating with myself if I should just go straight to her door or not. I didn't want to scare her but I didn't want to force her to let me in either. I wanted her to give herself to me freely, willingly, without hesitation. Free will wasn't the only thing that made me worried. She got hurt because of Stefano and I couldn't take her yet even if she was willing to do so. I was actually surprised how much I was worried about her. I mean - I wanted her badly but I wanted her safe too. After thinking about the situation I decided to go to her door. I knocked but no one opened. Her apartment was dark and silent and I was disappointed. Where did she go? In her condition she couldn't have gone very far. I decided to wait in the corridor and sat down on the stairs. My thoughts run almost wild because I didn't know where she was and I couldn't understand why I was suddenly so confused because of her. She was nothing more than a mere human being. A very desirable human being, but still just a human. After waiting for an hour I decided to leave and walked outside. I stepped a few steps and stopped again. She made me crazy by just existing! I sighed out my frustration and decided to stay and make sure that she would get back to home. I listened to the sounds of the city while I stood on the roof of the building next to Catherine's. It gave me the perfect sight to the entrance of her house and her balcony. There still wasn't a sign of her and it was starting to get late. What if something bad had happened to her after she left the hospital? What if Stefano had gone back to her? I wanted to shout out my frustration. This wasn't me, I was never like this. Suddenly a light was turned on in her apartment. She couldn't have got in while I was watching so there was only one explanation left; she had been at home the whole time. I saw her shape through the window and I was glad that she wasn't hurt. After a while she went to the kitchen and soon she came out on the balcony. Dear Lord, she was even more beautiful now. It was dark but us vampires had a great vision. Her dark hair curled around her face while she leaned her back to the wall and she looked absolutely beautiful. She took a few sips from her mug and held her eyes on it. Maybe she was listening to the sounds of the city too. I stayed there admiring her beauty until she suddenly lifted her gaze straight to where I was standing. I knew she couldn't see me but her stare was as intense as if she was looking into my eyes. Air felt electric and I shivered even though I couldn't feel the coldness on my skin. The moment didn't last very long but it was enough to cause a bulge in my pants. She went back in and it didn't take very long until her apartment went dark. I knew it wasn't a very good idea but I simply had to see her closer. My second brain in my pants agreed fiercely. I sneaked in her home after waiting for a while to make sure that she was asleep. This was against everything that I believed in but I couldn't help it. She was absolutely worth bending some rules. I listened to her breathing and walked next to her bed when nothing showed me that she was aware of me being there. She had curled on a tiny space in her bed, holding her arms around herself like protecting herself from something. Her fragile body moved along her breathing and I wanted to lay myself next to her. Now that I was close to her I didn't know what I wanted more - have her in my bed or save her from anything that could harm her, myself included. The feelings were swallowing in my chest. Why did she make me react like this? I didn't know her and I had never met her before the incident with Stefano yet here I was, creeping on in her home while she was asleep. I ended up watching her sleep until it was almost dawn already. I had to leave and eat before the sunrise, otherwise there would be too many people out. She was so beautiful and it took all my strength not to kiss her. Instead of that I softly caressed her cheek with my fingers and she moved a bit. With a heavy heart I left her to sleep and went to eat.
