Leaving Home

797 Words
She-wolf Ellie and her little sister Meg were out on a run with their father, the Alpha of their pack the Purple Star. Meg was practising her wolf form as she was new to phasing. Meg was only 15, young for her wolf to show, but it is known that Alpha bloodlines can get their wolf younger due to their strength and inheritance, but normally wolves are connected to their human between 17-18 years old. Her father gets linked by their Beta that rogues are attacking their southern border. Kevin commands Ellie to stay with her sister and get her home safely and protect the pack house. As they approach the pack house it is surrounded by large rogues, this was no normal rogue attack this was a war, attempting to take over this territory. Ellie knew her sister couldn't defend herself properly yet as she only found her wolf a few days ago. It was unsafe to go any closer. Instead, Ellie made the decision to take Meg and run to the nearest pack to theirs, the Red Moon Pack. They were allies and would help keep Meg safe until her father lets them know that it was safe to return. A couple of rogues got their scent when they were later doing a sweep for any remaining pack members and hastily followed on the path of which the girls had ran. They had been running for nearly two hours and were around 20 minutes away from the Red Moon Packs border, when Ellie smelled the rogues getting closer. "Keep running forward until the air changes to a new scent Meg! I will catch up, if you come across any wolves in the new area just sit still with your head low, don't run from them as they will think you are a rogue, they haven't met your wolf yet!" Meg looked at her sister worriedly and her blue eyes changed to a solid yellow. Lizzie her wolf knew Meg couldn't leave her sister and so she now took over for her. "Run Lizzie!" Ellie hollowed as she ran away from her little sister towards the rogues who were quickly approaching. Lizzie ran as fast as she could for as long as she could, when she felt the air change she kept running. Then she heard wolves running in her direction. She was in a large opening and hoped they were the pack members and not rogues. She smelt the air as she circled on the spot. The approaching wolves smelt differently to the rogues she had smelt earlier. She remembered what Ellie had said and sat down and lowered her head. Two large wolves approached; she could make out it was two from the padding as they ran. They stopped just short of her and growled she whimpered and kept her head down. More wolves were beginning to gather in the clearing and circling her. 'Don't run, don't run' she repeatedly told herself as she shakingly sat there making herself as small as possible. "Who are you? What do you want and why are you on our territory?" a deep demanding voice came from one of the first wolves who had now changed to his human form. Another wolf came into the clearing and stood next to him. Lizzie could tell this wolf was larger than the others, she couldn't help but to glance at him quickly and then lower her head again. He was a deep brown and huge, her father was a huge wolf and this one was of similar build. "This might be the Alpha" she said to Meg, "Meg, you need to take control you need to phase and tell him what was happened!" Lizzie knew Meg was terrified and just wanted Ellie. She was in no fit state to phase back to her human form. The man commanded again "Who are you? What do you want?". A growl echoed out the clearing from the brown wolf, he moved closer to Lizzie, the other man walked away from the group and returned in his original form just behind them. 'I think the brown wolf has told the other to back off Meg, I think he knows we aren't a rogue! You need to speak to him Meg!' Lizzie pleaded. 'I..I..Can't I'm too scared! T...they may not believe me! I have only met the Alpha and Beta of the Red Moon Pack once before when they came to Ellie's 18th birthday party. I wasn't very well and went to bed early remember!' Meg wept. 'I..I will wait for Ellie.' She couldn't help but look back at tall wolf in front of her, she kept her eyes on him as he did with her, she was trying to will him to know her.
