WE FINALLY CAME TO a stop in front of a giant pit, and a collection of ogres took their time pulling us out of the cart one at a time and lining us all up. In front of the pits a single desk sat with what looked like a goblin behind it, though I couldn’t see him well through the backlighting of the flames. I was lucky enough to be pulled out last, so I could watch every other person get processed through the line before it was my turn. It was a horrific process. Once the goblin crossed a name off his list, two demons, ten feet tall and rippling with muscles, pulled that person from the line and tossed them into the pits.
