The instant Anna took off, Jack slipped into the narrow space between the van and the concrete wall. That hulking monstrosity would be passing soon, and he wasn"t about to let himself be caught with his pants down. Heavy metal footsteps thumped on the floor. He took a quick peek and found that the drone had already passed him. It stood with its back turned, raising its arm to fire a tempest of bullets at one of the pillars near the back wall. Chunks of concrete went flying, dropping to the floor. No doubt Anna was behind that pillar. He had to do something, but what?
