Jack felt a smile bloom. Closing his eyes, he bowed his head to her. “Of course I"ll stay with you,” he said, sitting down again. “Justice Keepers protect, right? May as well get started right away.” The glare of a penlight was like a tiny star in Harry"s field of vision, waving back and forth and drowning out everything else. Purple afterimages sparkled and shimmered when the light was removed. “Good,” Dr. Tenant said, “I"ve seen no sign of any major neurological damage.” Tall and slim with tanned copper skin, she wore her black hair tied back in a long ponytail and her lab coat unbuttoned. “I think you"ll be fine, Detective,” she said. “But I want to keep you overnight for observation.” Harry frowned thoughtfully as he studied her.
