Coffee and Memories

668 Words
Ava couldn't concentrate on work the next day. Her mind kept wandering back to Ryan and their encounter at the gala. She couldn't believe how natural it had felt to talk to him, how easy it was to fall into their old rhythm. When Ryan texted her to confirm their coffee date, Ava's heart skipped a beat. She felt like a teenager again, excited and nervous about meeting someone she liked. Their coffee date was scheduled for the next day at a quaint café in Lekki. Ava arrived early, dressed in a simple yet elegant outfit. She ordered a latte and sat down, waiting for Ryan to arrive. When Ryan walked in, Ava's eyes were drawn to him. He looked handsome in his casual attire, his smile lighting up the room. They hugged briefly, and Ava felt a spark of electricity as their bodies touched. As they sat down, Ryan asked Ava about her favorite coffee. She laughed, remembering how they used to spend hours talking about their favorite things in high school. "Still a fan of cappuccino," she said, smiling. Their conversation flowed easily, like they had never been apart. They talked about their lives, their dreams, and their fears. Ava felt like she was reconnecting with an old friend, someone who understood her in a way that few others did. As they sipped their coffee, Ryan asked Ava about her decision to become an event planner. She told him about her passion for creating memorable experiences, about the thrill of bringing people together. Ryan listened intently, his eyes sparkling with interest. "You were always good at organizing things," he said, smiling. "I remember how you used to plan our school events." Ava laughed, feeling a wave of nostalgia wash over her. "Those were good times," she said, her voice filled with emotion. As they talked, Ava realized that she was having the time of her life. She felt like she was rediscovering herself, like she was finding parts of her that she had lost over the years. Their coffee date turned into lunch, and before Ava knew it, they had spent hours talking. Ryan walked her out of the café, and they stood outside, reluctant to part ways. "I'm glad we reconnected," Ryan said, his voice filled with sincerity. "I've missed you, Ava." Ava's heart skipped a beat. She had missed him too, more than she had realized. "I've missed you too," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. As they stood there, Ava felt like she was standing at a crossroads. She could continue down the path she was on, or she could take a chance on Ryan again. She didn't know what the future held, but she knew that she wanted to explore this connection with him further. Ryan smiled, and Ava's heart fluttered. "Would you like to go out with me again?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with hope. Ava's heart skipped a beat. She felt like she was 17 again, wondering if the boy she liked would ask her out. "I'd love to," she said, smiling. As they parted ways, Ava couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. She didn't know what the future held, but she was eager to find out. Over the next few days, Ava and Ryan talked constantly. They texted each other, sharing stories and laughter. Ava felt like she was falling for him all over again, like she was rediscovering the boy she had loved in high school. As the days turned into weeks, Ava realized that she was happy. She was happy in a way that she hadn't been in years. She knew that she still had doubts and fears, but she was willing to take a chance on Ryan. And as she looked in the mirror one day, Ava saw a spark in her eyes that she hadn't seen in years. It was a spark of hope, a spark of love. She smiled, feeling a sense of excitement about what the future held.
