It came as no great surprise that Douglas Harding was entrusted with the responsibility of unofficial tour guide for their day visit to Las Palmas on the Canary Islands. Since a peace deal had been reached on the eleventh, he spent most of his time after work in the company of both Caroline and Emilee—perhaps more time with Caroline.
