They were in a room. Noah had rented out a private room at a fancy restaurant, and the two had already finished their exquisite food. Everlyn took a sip of her red wine before placing the half-empty glass back onto the table in front of her. The wine matched her lipstick shade perfectly. It was all Noah could think about. "I suppose we should discuss it then." Noah's eyes flicked up to hers, and he sent her a dashing smile before also taking a sip of his own wine. "Please, go on." He gestured for her to say what she needed to say with his hand that was still holding the wine glass. The whole point of this date was so that the two could talk about the mating. "I can't mate with you." Instantly, his mood deflated at her abrupt announcement. "At least not yet anyway." She quickly added when she watched his face fall. Noah stayed silent as he waited for her to explain, and when Everlyn reached for his hand, he let her hold it because she knew that she obviously had a reason. "I was in a relationship a few years back. He was a rogue too. We were young, and I thought it was perfect, that we were perfect, but we weren't. He certainly wasn't the man I thought he was, and one night he tried to mark me without consent." Although Everlyn wasn't completely lying about this situation, a small part of her felt guilty for lying to him. she knew that Noah wasn't a good guy, but she felt that this lie was going slightly too far.  "I wasn't ready to mate with someone. I was too young, but that didn't stop him. Thankfully, I managed to fight him off me, and I ran. I ran as far away as I possibly could, which ended me up here. I had nothing, so I joined the escort company to make some money, and well, you know the rest." Noah's heart went out to the exposed woman sitting in front of him. He couldn't believe that she had to go through all that alone. He turned his hand over and gripped hers, letting him know that he was here for her. "I can't believe that happened to you, Blaire." Everlyn almost winced at the fake name and sent him a small smile to cover it up. "I would never do that to you. I may have done some questionable things in my time, but that is unacceptable, and no woman should ever be put through that." Noah spoke from his heart. He was only using her to make him as powerful as he could be, but he still cared for her deeply. Even though this news changed his plan slightly now that it would take them longer to mate, he would never force her into something she wasn't ready for. It was frowned upon in both werewolf and vampire culture. "I know you wouldn't do that to me, Noah. You're a good guy." He frowned at her words. He knew he wasn't a good guy. He wasn't exactly a bad guy, but he was far from good. "It feels different with you. I see a future with you, and although I'm not ready to mate with you just yet, I am ready to move in with you. That is if you'll have me?" This was her plan. Kai and Willow already moved that the best way to keep him close and keep his trust would be if she moved in with him. Noah let go of her hand and stood to his feet quickly so that he could walk up to her. He didn't have to think twice about gripping her face in his hands and planting a passionate kiss on her plump lips. He didn't care that red lipstick smeared across his skin. "Of course, that's okay with me." He breathed out before dropping his lips back to hers. Noah couldn't believe how lucky he was to have such a beautiful woman in his life. At first, he thought that maybe she had ulterior motives, like money, but he soon realised that it wasn't the case and that for once in his life, perhaps luck was on his side. That for once, he might actually be happy and not have to fight for something. He was the first one to pull away and lifted the woman up to her feet so that he could wrap his arms around and hold her. "I can book a day off, and we can move your stuff in within the next few days? We can even go shopping in case you need to get anything?" Noah never offered to go shopping. In fact, he hated shopping with a passion, but he would go for her. And as he held her in his arms, he wondered if life was finally falling into place and if he could trust her enough to tell her the truth. He wanted to tell her everything, but he had to make sure she wouldn't run away when she found out because the news would be shocking for anyone to hear, and that included the Alpha King. Everlyn smirked into his chest as she hugged him back. She didn't think it would be so easy to convince him to let her move in, especially as she knows that he's hiding so much from her.  Hopefully, this would be the perfect way for her to gain his full trust.
