Reputation for most teenagers is as important as their life. That's why some teenagers act tough, picking on other teenagers, or worst, bullying them. Some would spend so much money, money that comes from their parents, just to look cool, or in trend. There are some teenagers who would bury themselves in books to keep up an excellent grade. Some cares more about vanity, and some would even give away their dignity just keep their reputation. It's the same thing that happened with Camila. Her boyfriend is the campus prince last year, and he has a reputation of living the girls he can't take. And, Camila had a reputation of running away whenever her boyfriend wants to make out with her. She even became a school's laughing stock. "This can't be. This can't be happening." Tears quickly fell from her eyes when she saw two red lines on the pregnancy test kit. "What am I gonna do?" She can't be pregnant. Her parents will disown her, and she will be the town pariah. Her parents will surely be ashamed of her. All kinds of terrible things flashed through her mind. How can she go through the rest of the junior year with her belly growing larger, and larger? Will her boyfriend take responsibility of it? What will she do with the baby? "Camila, sweetheart. Breakfast is ready." She heard her mother's voice outside her room. "I'm almost done, Mom. I'll be there in a minute." There is no way she's telling the truth to her parents. She needs to find a way to fix her problem, alone. Talking to Nick will be the first thing she needs to do. He needs to know about her situation. Maybe, just maybe, he loves her enough to take responsibility. That her situation can be a mistake, but not a disgrace. "Camila, are you okay?" Her dad asked, his eyes are scrutinizing her. "Yes, Dad. I'm fine." Having breakfast with her family has never been an enjoyable experience for her. All her father's sermons, her mother's gossips about their neighbor, using their story to teach her life lessons. But, this time, it's worst. The smell of garlic makes her want to vomit, but she needs to push it down. She can't let her parents see her puking last night's meal. "Nick, we have to talk." Finding Nick is the first thing she did when she arrived at school. "Sure, baby. About what?" Nick responded with her infamous handsome smile. "I'm pregnant with our baby. We have to talk about what we're going to do." "What? What are you talking about? That's impossible! That's not mine, admit it." Nick's reaction was not what she's expecting. They both know that she's never been in bed with anyone before him, and she's always been faithful. How can he say those things to her? "This is your baby, Nick. Our baby. I've never been with anyone before you. You know that." "That is not my baby. I've always used condoms, so it's impossible. I will not take responsibility of something that is not mine. Find the father of that thing, and don't throw it on me! We're done, you b*tch!" She's lucky that no one's around to see the embarrassment she made of herself. Succumbing to the frustration, and disappointment, Camila pushed back her tears and made her way to their first period. For the rest of the day, she faked a smile, and tried to made through the day without crying. -------------------------------- The preparation for Sarah's birthday is already complete, and they have everything they need. All they have to now is to wait for Sarah's special day. But, they are all worried about Camila. She's so been acting weird all day, and she's not talking to them. Keisha can feel that something is wrong, but no matter how hard they tried, she won't tell them her problem. Focusing on Camila's problem is better for Keisha than thinking what is going with her the entire day. It's only one voice, but the effect that is has on her is already making it difficult for her to focus on her studies. She kept drifting away no matter how hard she tried to keep her attention to everything else around her, she can't resist the voice whispering in her ears. "Keisha, I'm talking to you. What's wrong with you?" Antoinette snapped her fingers in front of Keisha's face. She had to come with her because of a project that they were partnered together. "What? What is it?" Keisha asked, confusion is written all over her face. "What is wrong with you? Camila is also acting so weird today. What the hell is happening?" "Nothing, I'm sorry. I'll focus now." "No, what is really happening? What's wrong with you?" Keisha fell silent as her own mind argues if she will tell Antoinette about what is happening to her. If she tell anyone that she can hear whispers, they will think that she's crazy. Her parents already thinks that she's crazy. She thinks that if she tells Antoinette about what is happening to her, she will tell everyone that she's crazy. "Nothing, I swear. But, I think Camila is going through something." Keisha said to change the subject. "I can see that. She's spacing out, and she doesn't want to talk to us." "Maybe, we should talk to Nick. He's her boyfriend, so maybe he knows what' showing on." "Maybe, but you have to talk to me first. What's wrong with you, and don't tell it's nothing because it's obvious." That's when she realized that she can't avoid Antoinette's question. She's the most persistent among all of them. "If I tell you, promise you won't laugh or think that I'm crazy?" "I promise." "It started a few months ago. This feeling like someone's watching me, that I'm not alone. Then, this past few days, I've been hearing this voice whispering my name. Telling me not to go. I don't even know where this voice is telling me not to go." She waited for Antoinette's reaction, and she was sure that her friend is going to burst into laughter. "You think a spirit is trying to reach out to you? To tell you something?" Antoinette's reaction was serious, like she's actually interested on helying her. "I think so, but I don't know how to reach back." "Have you considered seeking out a paranormal expert? Doing a séance, or maybe, even ouija board?" "You're making fun of me." "No, I'm not making fun of you. I don't believe in ghost of anything supernatural, but if you do then, I'm on board. I'll help you find the most reliable expert, then we will find out what this spirit wants from you. Okay?" "Okay." Keisha responded after heaving a loud sigh. At least there's one person that she can share her problems with. She's not so alone anymore.
