Chapter 10

"I can't believe you booked this vacation for us." Margarette said with a smile. They all finished packing last night after Gaia told them about the hiking package she booked for them. "I know, right. Where did you even the money you used to pay for it? And why did you tell us?" Natalie added. "I wanted it to be a surprise. Besides, if I tell you about it, you will insist on excluding Camila. She's our friend, and no matter what she did, we can't stay angry with her forever. Am I right?" Gaia replied. "Of course, you're always right. Your parents name you after the Titan mother goddess." Serra said jokingly. "Guys, I'm really sorry. I promise that I will never do that again." Camila then said emotionally. "Okay, okay. Enough with the drama. Come on. Let's get this vacation started."Antoinette interrupted their conversation. They all agreed to meet at Lina's house since it's her uncle who will drive them to the airport. Silent City is fourteen hours away from their town if they will travel on land. So they decided to travel by airplane to cut their journey by eight hours. It's the first day of the semester break, and they are all excited to leave their town for a while. Their friendship is still on the healing stage. Antoinette still won't talk to Camila without being a b*tch, and the others just simply won't talk to her. The only thing they have in common is their excitement for this vacation. Well, all of them except for Keisha. Since yesterday, Keisha has been spacing out. They can't talk to her properly because she's always mentally absent. No one can't force her to fess up, and she just kept saying she's okay. Even Antoinette, who she first confessed about what's happening, can't make her talk. They just thought that maybe it because of the stress, and she will be okay once they left. But, what they don't know is that Keisha is suffering silently. Yesterday, she almost had an accident after she heard those whispers while driving. She still doesn't have her license, but sometimes, she would sneak out with her parents of car. She barely sleeps for three hours every night because of the voices, and it's messing her so bad. "Keisha? Keisha?" Kristine was asking her if she brought her camera with her, but she's spacing out again. "Back to the car!" "What?" That's when she finally snapped out of whatever it is that's going on with her mind. Her friends stared at her with their worried look. None of them want to ruin the vibe, but it's obvious that something is going on with Keisha. "I was asking you if you brought your camera." Kristine repeated her question. "Oh, yeah. I have it." She responded. She tried to force a smile, but it only ended up as a grimace. She saw her friends shook their heads and heave out a loud sigh. They all chose to stay quiet, but it was obvious that they can see something is wrong. Only Camila smile at her, like she understand what she's going through. --------------------------- After six hours of being in an airplane, Keisha and her group finally arrived in Silent City. They are scheduled to meet their hiking guide tomorrow morning. Gaia said that she intentionally booked their hiking packag the day after their arrival in the city so they will have time to enjoy Silent City before they began hiking. She booked a hotel where they can sleep for the night, but that's after they go around the city. Everyone thought it was a good idea. They saw the best places in Silent City, and enjoyed it's vintage vibe. The only problem is Keisha. "You know, Gaia did a great job booking this vacation for all of us, but you're ruining it. Time to talk, Keisha. What the hell is going on with you?" Antoinette's patience is already wearing thin. "Hey, just go easy on her. You can she's going through something. You don't have to be rude." Camila interrupted. "Oh! I'm rude? So, what are you? A good friend? Let me just remind you that while you're so caught up with your own drama, we were there for each other. Me? I am the only person that Keisha talked to when she felt like there's no one who would understand her. Where were you? Huh?" Antoinette retaliated. "Guys, please. That's enough." Gaia begged her friends. "How many times do I have to apologize for what I've done? None of you had any idea of what I had to go through, so don' you dare judge me like you know everything!" Camila had enough. She's been patient with Antoinette because she know that she deserve the her friends are treating her, but this is already too much. "That's the problem! We tried to reach out to you and you shut us out! We wanted to be there for you, and what did you do? You avoided us! So, I'm sorry if we didn't know what you had to go through!" "Guys, that's enough. We're in the middle of the street and people are staring at us. We're already catching too much attention." Fiona said. It somehow worked because Antoinette and Camila looked at their surrounding. "Why don't we go to the park and relax for a while, yeah? Good. Come on." Gaia then said to ease the atmosphere. They all went to the park and separate from each other for a while. It's like they all felt suffocated, and they have to breathe. Camila went with Keisha to the orchidarium to talk. She's the one who understand it the most. That feeling that no matter how much you want to talk to your friends and tell what you're going through, you just can't. "I'm not going to force you to talk, but if you want to, just remember that I am here for you, okay?" Camila said to Keisha. "I don't think we should be here, Camila. I'm not sure why, but I just feel like something bad is about to happen." Keisha responded honestly. "Are you sure? Why didn't you say anything?" Camila then asked. "I did, to Gaia and Antoinette, but they just dismissed me like it was nothing." She replied. "Let's try to talk to them again later, okay?" "Yeah, okay."
