Daily Log Entry 1 Date: 17 Krishna Krishna how do I work this thing? Ah I’ll figure it out as I go along. If this thing is working properly it should be recording exactly what I am thinking. I managed to create this off the cuff, a while back when I was in the Academy for Advance Sciences in Puch, south of the capital. I call it a neuro-interface. If this thing works okay then it should be recording my ideas and thoughts for the day. Today was a bit interesting. Mostly because I had decided that I was going to follow my old man’s footsteps and join the Golordia Army. Probably everyone and their mama has heard of the Old Man, I don’t think I should leave that out as who the hell knows who may be reading this later. My old man is named Albrecht Browne. Yeah you heard…I mean… I guess…read right. And yes, THAT Albrecht Browne. If for whatever reason you have been living on Golordia Omicron (who the hell knows how you pulled that one off if you did seeing since the damn planet is deader than a stiff), my pops is a legendary General of the Golordia Empire. Hardly anybody does not know who he is. For a long time I have been I guess you can call it Primed to follow him in his footsteps and join the Golordia Empire Army, it took me a while to agree to do it. Really the only reason why I did it…well maybe theirs two reasons I did it. One was the recruiter. She was freaking hot! Okay I am sorry, right now being a lowly enlisted soldier, who may be put in a position of a commission because of my father alone, I shouldn’t be saying an officer is hot, but man was she hot. Her name was something like Heather Pink? Heather Salmon? Heather…Fuscia! Yeah that was her last name! Heather Fuscia, I knew it was some pinky color, but in all honesty, she could have told me her named was Igor Indigo and have a deep man voice and I would still have found her pretty! She didn’t seem too much older than I was, I knew she was older just because she was an enlisted officer already, and for a girl to raise to that rank, yeah she had to be in for a while unless she was like me and had a family member in the service. I mean she had long dark red hair that she had up in a bun, she had a nice round face that was not overly round but round enough that it complimented her well. She had beautiful almost teal eyes, and a great smile, and she did herself up very well. She was wearing an officer’s uniform complete with standard issue brass and ratings on her shoulder. From that I gathered she was at least a Warrant Officer, high up on the chain if you asked me. She also wore a pencil skirt I only saw when I had walked into the room and she had risen to greet me from behind her desk. I couldn’t see if she wore heels, probably since those were pretty standard, nor could I see if she was wearing nude or black stockings both pretty standard for a female officer. I didn’t see a ring on her finger, but that didn’t mean squat really, I mean around here people with rings would still do the most interesting things. I would be surprised if she was single seeing how pretty she was. Then again, she was a commissioned officer, probably the only people who could and would date her would be other commissioned officers, if I get to be a commissioned officer, I sure as hell will try to date her. Anyways, that is beside the point and I am kind of getting sidetracked on how pretty she was. At least I wasn’t like Vinnie that i***t. Oh…right I guess I have not said anything about him yet, I’ll go into him in a bit. Right now, I was going to say the second reason why I joined the service. Did you know that you cannot simply learn advance combat skills or advance computer mechanics unless you are enlisted? Shock that I learned this recently. See as a son of an extremely well-known General I had been exposed to such things as the advance combat skills one gets taught in the service at a young age. I found out recently that knowing as much combat skills that I did know, that I could be incarcerated for knowing them without formal training in the service. I fancied not going to jail so I really had no choice there. And Computer Mechanics? Yeah you can’t even program a damn microwave without having to be screened by an army of the Golordian Military Intelligence branch. I knew a lot of advance computer mechanics, enough to get me into some real trouble. You learn know how to divert missiles remotely? Yeah…I learned that when I was like 10, that is again another thing that could have put me in jail. Since I was a fan of my own personal freedom, I had no choice but to enlist. So today I arrived at the recruiter headquarters in Noiraire, the hub of the Golordia Military Branch. All branches were found there, and there were several military recruiting centers. I just happened to have walked into the one that was manned, or do you call that womanned…who the hell knows…anyways Heather was the officer over that recruiting center. When I arrived there, there was another guy, about my age, named Vincent Gould. “Man, she is hot,” Vincent had said when we were waiting to be seen. I had looked at him and he c****d his head to the desk behind the door we were waiting outside of. To be honest I had not seen Heather up to that point. I saw Heather talking to another person who was enlisting. His name I found out was named William White, he also was around our age. “She’s a commissioned officer,” I said. “So?” Vinnie said. “So, you shouldn’t be calling her hot,” I said. “Oh, come off it,” Vinnie snorted. “A girl like her, she’s used to it.” “Even if she is, you shouldn’t be ogling her.” I pointed out. “I am not ogling her, I am merely commenting on her beauty,” Vinnie said. “If you just said that it would have been better,” I shrugged. “You think she has great legs?” Vinnie asked looking over at Heather. “Krishna, you are too old to be talking like that,” I said. “Oh, I am probably the same age as you,” Vinnie said then he extended his hand to shake mine. “The name is Vincent, Vincent Gould.” “Marxus Browne,” I said shaking his hand. “Why does that name sound familiar?” Vinnie asked as he shook my hand. “Probably because of my old man,” I said. “Your old man?” Vinnie asked then he had a lightbulb go off in his head. It was something I had gotten used to by then. “Your dad is Albrecht Browne, isn’t he?” “The one and only,” I said shrugging. “Wow,” Vinnie said nodding. “So, you signing up you can probably be instantly a commissioned officer based on your connection.” “Maybe, maybe not.” I said. “I want to be a part of SPADE,” Vinnie said. “Oh really?” I said. SPADE was a Special Paranormal Anomaly Detecting Emissary branch of the army that was recently placed through the treaty with those beings who had arrived not too long ago calling themselves the Fakirs. The Fakirs were heavily into mythologies and lore and things that went bump in the night. SPADE had been created to investigate fringe things that were off the beaten path. Vinnie was the first person I had met who wanted to be part of that group. “I probably won’t go right away and will have to get transferred over.” Vinnie said. “What did you want to do there?” I asked. “I like investigating stuff,” Vinnie said. “I even came up with two clever names for myself just for kicks.” “Uh huh…” I said. “Justin Case,” Vincent said as I smacked my forehead. “Vinnie that is stupid,” I said rubbing my head. “Oh well I came up with a better second one,” Vinnie said. “What is it f*****g Justin Time or something?!” I asked. “How did you know?” Vinnie said looking disappointed I had ruined his surprise. “No, come on Vinnie!” I said. “Those are my names. Justin Case, and Justin Time.” Vinnie said. “Please don’t tell her that’s your name,” I said pointing at Heather when I said that. “Why not I bet she’ll get a kick out of it,” Vinnie said. He noticed her standing up and bidding William White goodbye. William walked out and nodded at us. “Good day, names William White,” William said as he walked out.  Vinnie and I both introduced ourselves and after William got over the fact that I was that Albrecht Browne’s son, he bid us farewell. A minute later a secretary came out and said, “Marxus Browne,” I looked up and saw this dorky looking young girl with messy blonde hair look up from her clipboard. She had big dorky glasses and had her hair mostly loose and covering her face as if she was extremely embarrassed. I could see her face was covered in blemishes under the hair, and she was turning redder as the moments passed standing there. “Well got to go,” I said. “See you around Marx,” Vinnie said.
