Chapter 4: Wrong Judgment

It's 8:45 o'clock in the morning, Ava and Kyla are preparing to meet Jax at the Leon Group and Company building. The scheduled meeting is at 10:00 o'clock.

KYLA: What are you wearing? Just a shirt and jeans? Are you out of your mind? You are meeting your dearest husband.

AVA: Ky?!

KYLA: Just kidding, what I meant is that -- can you wear something --- you know -- at least beautiful.

AVA: No, I don't have to dress for him or for this --- real or fake marriage. I'll go there as Ava Sydney Chiu.

KYLA: Fine fine. Atleast wear this blazer on top of your shirt and these heels.

AVA: Okay, I will.

KYLA: Good. And --- let's put some lipstick on. (Put some lipstick on Ava's lips). There you go, you are all set.

Ava and Kyla left their apartment and rode a taxi on the way to Leon Group and Company. They arrived 30 minutes before the meeting.

KYLA: Wow! I can't believe we are not just passing by here but we are entering inside and will meet the new CEO. This is so -- amazing! (Looked at Ava) I mean -- it's not amazing.

AVA: (Took a deep breath)

KYLA: It will be okay, don't worry too much. And look! I am here with you, if they are gonna hurt or do something to you, I will ----- (Cars approaching and parked in front of them)

Jax went out of the driver's seat, his body guards and secretary approached him and bowed.

KYLA: Omg!!! JAX! (Jax looked at her and Ava covered her mouth) (She waved at Jax)

AVA: (Whispered) What are you doing?

JAX: Who --

JAX's SEC: It's Miss Ava Chiu and her best friend.

JAX: (Looked at Ava and Kyla) (Then looked away) I don't want to see them before the meeting, take them away.

JAX's SEC: (Approached Ava and Kyla) Miss Chiu and Miss --

KYLA: Min, I'm Kyla Min. (Smiled)

JAX's SEC: Please follow me. I'll lead you to the meeting room. Let's go.

KYLA: How about -- you boss? Jax! Let's just go together.

AVA: Ky! Stop. Let's go. (Followed Jax's Secretary)

They entered into a room that looked like a conference room. Jax's secretary informed them to wait for a while, Jax and his legal team would be there in a minute. Some staff entered and brought some coffee.

AVA: Thank you! (The old staff smiled at her)

STAFF: Should I add some sugar?

KYLA: Don't do that. Ava doesn't like sugar in her coffee.

STAFF: Oh, okay. You are like Sir Jax, he doesn't like sugar in his coffee either. I think, after years of serving here, there are only three (3) people I know who don't like sugar in their coffee.

AVA: Really? Among all the people here?

STAFF: Yes. Sir. Jax and now you. And the last one is -- who is he? Ohh, Mr. Leonardo Park.

KYLA: Leonardo -- Park? Who is he?

STAFF: He is the best friend of Mr. Jax father. But, he died 10 years ago, in a car accident with his wife.

AVA: You have been working here for more than 10 years?

STAFF: Yes. Actually, I have been working here for 15 years already.

KYLA: Wow! That was amazing. (Someone entered) Ohhh? Miss Patty!

MISS PATTY: (Bowed) Hi! It's been a while, Ava and Kyla.

STAFF: (Served a coffee to Miss Patty) I think I need to go now. (Left)

AVA: (Serious mode) Miss Patty? What's really going on?

MISS PATTY: (Sighed) I'm sorry Ava. It's me who made you sign the --- (the door opened, Jax and his team arrived)

ATTY. JANG: Hello! Miss Patricia, Miss Kyla and Miss Ava. I think you all know why we are gathered here.

JAX's SEC: (Distributed the copy of the marriage contract and the will of Jax's father)

ATTY. JANG: As you can all see, there is a marriage contract signed by Mr. Jax Kim, Miss Ava Chiu, Mr. Kendrick Kim and Miss Patricia Lim. The next one is the will of our previous CEO, Mr. Kendrick Kim, and the last one is the court approved order that the will has already been probated during the lifetime of Mr. Kendrick Kim and it only awaits to be taken effect. That means, we cannot question anymore what's in the will unless -- it was by mistake or under force, violence or intimidation.

Everyone is checking the papers. Jax is just waiting for other matters, Atty. Jang will discuss it since he has already reviewed everything.

KYLA: What? If there is a divorce, only 10% will go to --- (Ava looked at her and signaled not to finish her sentence)

JAX: You! (Looked at Ava)

AVA: M- Me?

JAX: What's your relationship with my Dad? Do you have an affair with him? Or you are someone who enjoys the night and bed with him?!

AVA: (Insulted) What?! What did you just say?!

JAX: Why? Are you offended? I even chose better words than telling "s*x buddy".

AVA: (Clenched her fist and stood up) How -- dare --

ATTY. JANG: Miss Ava, please take a seat and listen to us first. All of this happened in just a snap, we, here in Leon Group and Company were all shocked about this.

AVA: (Smirked) So, what you are trying to say now is that -- only you were shocked? YAHHHH! I lost myself also! All this time I've been looking for my family and then suddenly I found out I am married -- to someone who I don't know and now -- you are saying I am having an affair with -- YOUR DAD AND HIS s*x BUDDY?!! Are you playing with me?!

JAX: Why would my Dad give you 50% of his assets? Signed and registered a marriage contract with me? Why would he do that? For sure, you did something. What did you do? HUH? DID YOU INTIMIDATE HIM? OR FORCE HIM? THREATEN HIM?

AVA: (Pissed) Wow! Now, accusing me of threats, force and intimidation? I didn't even meet your Dad! (Tears fell) (Took a deep breath) Kyla! Let's go.

ATTY. JANG: Miss Ava. Wait! (Looked at Jax) Mr. Jax? (Ava left first)

KYLA: This is the problem of rich people like you. Not only rich, but also arrogant and selfish. You didn't know Ava at all. Not among what you said, she is! (Also left and slammed the door)
