Chapter 6

244 Words
That night, habang tulog si Alina, bigla siyang napabalikwas. She wasn’t in the room. She wasn’t even awake. She was standing in a field of white flowers under a dark sky. The moon—massive, low, glowing blue. “Alina…” A voice called her name. She turned. A figure stood behind her, face hidden under a hood. “You’re late.” “Late for what?” she asked. “To finish what you started centuries ago.” She froze. “What are you talking about?” “You think you’re seeing me for the first time?” The hooded figure stepped closer. “You’ve known me long before Rafe did.” Her breath hitched. “Who are you?” But before he could answer— A sharp pain hit her wrist. The mark burned like fire. “Wake up,” someone whispered. “Wake up, Alina!” Her eyes flew open. Rafe was shaking her. “You were glowing,” he said, voice trembling. “Too much. Too bright. The Seekers almost found us again.” She blinked, breath heavy. “Rafe… I saw someone. In a vision.” His expression darkened. “Describe him.” “Hooded… but he knows me. He said we’ve met before you.” Rafe’s jaw tensed. “That’s impossible.” “Why?” “Because there’s only one person who knew you before I did…” He hesitated. “…and he’s not supposed to be alive.”
