Axels pov

"Bro wassup?" Jayden, one of my friends greeted just as I entered school.

"Cool bro." I smiled.

"So how was Brittany?" He smirked.

The thing is we placed a bet, if I get to sleep with any girl he chooses in the span of two weeks, well I get the prize.

"Too easy, she started throwing herself on me right from day two. At a point I thought she was going to force me."

"Sup guys?" Luca and Jace joined us after a while.

"So, did you get to do it with Brittany?" Jace wiggled his brows.

"Done." I chuckled.

"Wow bro, you're on fire." They laughed.

"So who is next?" Luca asked.

Everyone looked to Jayden, he's the one bringing the names.

"Think smart brother, you're loosing a lot of things so quick." I smiled.

He thought so hard until he finally smiled. And a good one. "Leah Reed." He smirked.

"Who the hell is that?" I frowned, the rest looking around in confusion.

"That is Leah Reed." He pointed behind me.

I looked back in time to see a covered figure walking pass. Hoodie girl?

"She? Her? Why?" I asked all at once.

"Yes, she. Her. And because she is also a girl. Have fun winning this one." His sly smirk suddenly becomes a bother to me and I wanted nothing more than to punch it off his face.

The bell rang and we all dispersed for class.

I was just about to leave for the first class when I caught sight of Brittany and her friends with a covered figure. Leah?

I quickly walked to them.

" Leave her alone Britt." I said. Normally, I don't react when Brittany does this to others or even her, but some reason I feel bad about it now.

"But Axe, she was getting what she deserved." She whinned child-like.

" What did she do?" I asked looking at Leah

She avoided my gaze, why the hell is she always on hoodies. I've never actually seen her face.

"Well.........are you taking her side now Axey?" Brittany pouted, changing the topic cuz she knew she had no reason to gang up on her.

"Come on, let's get to class." I look at her one more time before before pulling Brittany away.

"Late, miss Reed" Mr Mandry the moment Leah Walks into class.

The class echo's with laughter.

"Sorry sir." She whisper.

"That's the thing Reed, you always come late without an excuse." he sighs

I sit there quietly thinking of a way to get close to Leah.

"Get to you seat" he finally permits.

I saw Brittany throw a paper at her. She ignored every thing around her coming towards the back seat. It's where she usually sits. And that is exactly why I am here. I have to make it look random.

"Hey." I smile looking at her

I saw her flinch in realization. She didn't know she was sitting beside me.

"You know it's rude to ignore someone that's trying to be nice." I said still smiling

"Hey." She whispers like she is scared.

"Leah, right?" I asks, feigning not knowing.

"Why do you always wear a hoodie?" I ask.

She shake her head.

"That's not an answer." I tease

This time she doesn't reply. So I start poking her.

"Can you please stop that?" She groans like she is in actual pain. I'm not doing it that hard am I. She looks at me and I almost catch a glimpse of her eye color.

"Can you please answer my questions?" I smile at her.

She quickly looks away.

"Looks like Mr Black and miss Reed have something so important that it couldn't wait to share to the class." Mr Mandry said.

The entire class looked back at us, including Brittany. I notice the way she glares at Leah. She thinks we're some kind of couple just because we hooked up.

"I. was just asking Leah here why she always wears a hoodie?" I smiled.

The entire class laughed at that. Most of them were quietly agreeing with me.

I heard Leah gasp beside me. She seemed surprised by the fact that i openly said that to the teacher.

"And that couldn't wait till after my class?" Mr Mandry asked.

"It really couldn't." I replied.

"Well how about this, why don't you take miss Reed to detention and ask her everything you want to know about her, while you are at it you can discuss your assignment because she's your partner." He pauses, "the assignment is: a written project explaining the nervous system. And mind you, you both need to contribute, I'll ask questions."

"No problem sir." I cheekely smiled.

Why did you do that?" Leah asked the moment we left the class.

"So it takes me getting us into detention for you to speak well to me?" I counter her question with one of mine

She does't reply. She just start walking ahead of me to detention class. I'm not new to detention. I'm here almost every time

"Wait up partner." I chuckle.

She ignores me, going ahead into the class.

"So where should we meet for the assignment? My place or yours?" I ask

"Don't worry, I'll do it and submit it. Just read on the topic." She reply, I almost didn't hear her.

"There is no need for that, it's our assignment and in plan to put in equal effort." I said Andy at the fact that she thinks I will leave it to her to do all the work. "Just because I play around doesn't mean I take my studies for granted." I hiss.

"I'm sorry." She whispers.

I exhales, trying to clam myself. The moment the bell rings,I stand up heading out "catch you later princess." I wink.

Leah's pov

"Thanks alot Sophia." I say to the woman standing before me. She is a mother to one of Zen's friends. She helpwd to pick Zen up from daycare cuz I couldn't make it.

"I've always told you to bother Leah, I'm happy to help plus Lisa is always happy to have Zen around." She replies smiling.

"Well I'll go get Zen from the game room." I turned to head to the game room when I noticed something. "Um.... Sophia?" I called.

"Yes Leah?" She turns to me.

"Are you sure you are alright? You don't look so good." I said

"Ive been down with the flu for a while. Thought it was just a 24hrs thing, but it's proving not to be." She sighed.

"Oh, have you had chicken broth yet? I heard it helps with the cold." I asked.

"Well, I've not had the strength and my son doesn't know how to make it."

"I'll do it. It's the least I can do." I offer

"I can't do that to you Leah, it's late and I told you that picking Zen is not a favor." She smiles.

"Then let me do it to help you. I promise it's not to return any favors, it's just for a friend." I smile.

"Alright fine." She finally agrees.

I go to the kitchen to start the broth.

"Mum!!!" I heard a familiar voice yell and door banging. The voice sounded a lot like Axel.

Axel!!!! What the hell is he doing here???

Footsteps got louder till he stopped. "Who ate you? And what are you doing In my kitchen?" He asked, voice stuff.

I slowly turn around.

"Leah?" He asked, shocked. "What are you doing here? How do you know where I live? Where is my mother?"

"I came to pick my brother, your mum's upstairs, she's cold so I offered to prepare chicken soup for her.

"Oh." He mumbled.

I carry on with what I was doing. At the same time adjusting my hood. The moment I turned back to take the curry powder, I bumped into Axel, I fell backwards making my hood fall from my face. Before I could fall to the ground, Axel caught me by my waist.

I was to caught up in his facial features that I was unaware that my face was no longer shielded. The scars by the side of my neck was very visible. I quickly covered my face.

"What was that?" Axel asked.

"Nothing." I avoided his gaze before moving away to do other thing like completing my soup.

"Who did that to you?" He asked

"I fell?" I hate how I find it hard to lie sometimes.

"Yeah and I'm British." He scoffed. "What happened? Did your boyfriend do that?"

I laughed. "I don't have a boyfriend."

"Tell me Leah, I'll find out sooner or later since just tell me.' He pressed

"What is it to you? Why do you care about me all of a sudden? Just leave me alone like you've always done. It shouldn't be hard for you now." I left to seven Sophia her soup.

"Thanks, you're a darling." Sophia smiled.

"Hey mum." Axel greeted pecking her cheek. " You didn't tell me you were sick." He examines her

"You are never around Axel." She smiles.

"I'll go find Zen, it's about time we left." I mutter before leaving.

"Why don't you let Axel take you home, it's pretty late and I can't have you walking around at night. After all I'm the reason you over stayed."

I tried to refuse the offer but Sophia didn't let me then Axel himself said it wasn't a bother. That my dear was how I found myself In Axel's car that night.
