Lexi, being the eyeless one she was, just poked his head darkly next to Bridges and asked kinda squarely:
"That Ms. Willey isn't your long-lost sister, is she?"
That's definitely the Clarks' own daughter!
Bridges twisted his head around to look at him grimly, but luckily Emmy pushed Lexi's head away and shoved a piece of toast in his mouth as quickly as she could - which prevented the tragedy from happening.
Leila smiled as if she hadn't seen what was going on, and said, "Where is Miss Edith? Her Ladyship still wants to hear if Miss Edith likes the dish she prepared for her!"
Bridges pursed his lips and stood up with a half tense face:
"I'll go find her."
-- finally succumbed to Mrs. Clark's lechery.
A few of Edith's people submitted all of their mentor information to Director Lola via email in time after organizing and filling it out, and a few of them were feeling a little hungry after settling a big score.
Elena familiarly brought a few people to Building 7.
It was only after Edith came here that she realized that this place was a bit like a comprehensive center for food, leisure and entertainment. The first and second floors were for these noble students to eat, and further up was a resting place for the students. From what Elena said, when there were no classes, a lot of students would come here to simply enjoy an afternoon tea, read a book, or casually chat with someone.
Edith looked around with interest, the place was very spacious and elegantly decorated, the crystal lamps were spotlessly cleaned, emitting a bright but not blinding light.
The waiter guided them to a vacant seat, where the tables were separated by cream-colored cut-out carvings to create a large, intimate space.
Edith made small talk with a few of Elena's people as she flipped through the menu.
"So you're living in Luxembourg now?"
"Sort of, but luckily only on weekends, I live in a dormitory on weekdays."
"I thought it was said at first that students could not live in the dorms, then somehow a few days before school started it was made mandatory again." Elena grumbled and complained.
Edith idly flipped through a page of menus, "I'd say it's just as well." Having to deal with that young master every day in Luxembourg.
Elena bristled and was about to say something when she looked up and saw a group of people coming their way.
--The one walking in the front ......
"Honey?"
Edith didn't look up, "What's wrong?"
"What would you say if Master Clark came over right now and invited you to lunch?"
Edith, who was seriously considering what she was going to eat, sniffed back casually, "Don't be ridiculous, he can't wait to see me."
Elena watched someone get closer and closer, and sure enough, they were headed their way, and stifled a laugh, "Geez, assuming!"
"Then I'll just have to thank this young master for his kindness and politely decline him again."
Young Master Clark heard this just as he walked in, and with a lurch of his feet and a sinking face, he turned his head and walked away without delaying a second more.
Leila stood upright and coughed. This young master's footsteps came to a raw halt.
Edith also raised her head suspiciously because of this cough, then met Bridges' dark eyes.
Edith: "......"
The scene was very awkward for a while. Edith couldn't help but glare hard at Elena who was snickering, where she didn't know she was making a scene.
Thinking that she hadn't said anything substantially bad anyway, Edith feigned composure and flashed a fake smile at Bridges:
She looked kinda surprised to say the least:
"Ah, Clark what brings you over?"
"...... came to invite you to lunch." Master Clark said with a handsome, expressionless face.
This time Elena Penny and a few others finally poofed out a laugh as if they couldn't hold it in.
Elena laughed so hard that she didn't know where her ladylike elegance had gone, she turned her head and looked at Edith with a funny expression - to see if she had the guts to put the words "Thank you for your kindness, and politely decline" into action.
The truth was, Edith didn't.
She watched as the second eldest stood there with a taut face, his clean-cut and upright appearance attracting an unknown number of people towards this lookout - it was a very rude thing to do to turn down an invitation in public on such an occasion.
Of course etiquette was not the point, the point was that Edith felt that with this young master's temperament, if he refused, he might actually - blow up.
With the idea that it was better not to make too much of a scene if they were going to deal with each other for a long time in the future, Edith smiled:
"It's an honor to have lunch with Young Master Clark." With that, she greeted the waiter and added places.
Her eyes were bright and she smiled with a harmless delicacy that made you want to believe everything she said - but Bridges wouldn't have been fooled by her appearance a long time ago, and just by the way she'd coaxed her mother into being obedient to her at home, it was clear that this one was a doll with a black heart who talked to everyone, and to everyone else.
Only Master Clark grunted softly and sat down as the attendant pulled out the seat for him.
Leila had been standing silently on the side just now, and only at this moment did she come forward, as if she didn't see the stiff and odd atmosphere between her own young master and Miss Edith, she smiled as she took out the contents of the lunch box, looking at the lunch box wasn't big, but it was obvious that space magic was superimposed on it, and it was surprisingly full of things in the end to set up a table as well.
"Madam heard that Miss likes to eat desserts, and specially ordered the kitchen to make these." Placing several delicate porcelain plates in front of Edith, she introduced them one by one "Cocoa Cream Opera, Strawberry Puff, Shuffle Cake ......"
Edith blinked, "There's too much, I can't eat it all."
Leila said lovingly, "That's okay, just make it next time if you can't finish it."
Edith opened her mouth, but the eldest young master on the other end spoke first, resting his chin on one hand as he said lazily:
"What about mine?"
Specially ordered the kitchen to specially prepare desserts for that girl, see her in front of a pile, he this is good, empty and do not know how shabby.
Leila in Mrs. Clarke before the cultivation for many years, what scenes have not seen, at this time she as if she did not see the young master of the family knowingly asked the same expression, serious answer:
"Your Ladyship knows that you've never been a picky eater, and isn't what's on display here what you love to eat?"
Young Master Clark really didn't say anything else. When Leila left, the man began to eat with his usual face as well.
He didn't make a sound when he ate, and even the most critical of old-fashioned nobles couldn't find fault with his manners, but Edith looked at the murderous manner in which he cut the steak, and felt that in this young master's head, it might not be the steak that was being cut at the moment - it was her head.
Bridges sat across from Edith, while next to him sat Penny and Flanda; Penny was better off, Flanda was white with fear at the moment, and only stiffly shoveled vegetable salad into her mouth.
Edith: This girl is definitely not going to get enough to eat in a while.
As a result, this meal wasn't finished, another unexpected person came looking for her. Edith felt that she must have added an iron absorbing buff today, or else all these people would come to her for good reason if they had something to do.
Seeing the visitor, the first person to greet him was instead Bridges, who put down his fork, took a napkin and elegantly wiped the corners of his mouth, raised his eyes to look at Prince Connor, and after two seconds, hooked up a fake smile and said:
"Why, are you also here to invite Ms. Willey to lunch?"
Noticing the word 'also', Connor raised an eyebrow as he scanned the scene on the table and said lightly:
"Looks like I'm late."
"Have to regret to tell you that it is."
Edith smiled slightly apologetically at Connor, "Excuse me?"
Edith knew that Connard of the royal family was the most likely to inherit the throne, but had never seen him in person, and thus couldn't relate to the polite looking teenager in front of her.
He didn't mind smiling, "Conard." Saying his name, "I've wanted to meet you before."
Edith said looking quite surprised:
"Yes?"
Bridges swept a glance at Edith's 'surprised' face and said sarcastically, "You're both light wizards, I'm afraid they couldn't wait to get to know you earlier in the auditorium!"
The words were addressed to Edith, but anyone with discerning eyes could hear who the sarcasm was.
Connor's brow cooled, "Clark, you're still as arrogant and rude as ever."
Bridges flashed him a fake smile, "Thank you, and your hypocrisy is as usual."
The two men's eyes met across the room as if they had been fighting for hundreds of rounds.
It was obvious that Young Master Clark did not have a good relationship with Prince Conard.
Penny was unsure whether or not to bow to Prince Conard, but then after watching Edith, Elena, and Clark, and even the most worried and cautious of them all, Flanda, not bow, she followed the crowd and sat openly in her seat.
-The facts once again proved that the nobles here did not fear the king's power as much as she thought they did.
Edith looked at the stiff atmosphere of the two men, and felt the vague gazes of the people around her, and couldn't help but complain in her heart, these two men want to quarrel, quarrel, how to quarrel in private she can't care, but at this moment, in front of her face, but also both came to invite her to dine, if the word gets out there still don't know to say to say what kind of thing it is!
Edith sighed silently and looked at Connor:
"I'm so sorry, I'm afraid I won't be able to have lunch with today, perhaps we can make a date for afternoon tea when we get the chance?"
As for when there was a chance it would be nice not to say, Edith's current intention was clearly to hand someone a step down first.
Connor's face finally eased a bit as he smiled slightly and said:
"Actually, I came over this time to ask about your mentor."
"Who did you pick?" He asked.
Edith said with her face as normal, as if she didn't realize how surprising her answer was:
"Mentor Faust."
A hint of surprise crossed Connor's eyes, and even Bridges, who was on the sidelines, couldn't help but look at her.
Edith's voice wasn't too loud nor too small, and this wasn't an enclosed space, so almost everyone who was paying attention to the movements on this side heard the words.
--Goodness, after so many years, there's even another one who isn't afraid of death who chose Mentor Faust.
Conard thought she didn't know the inside story and said looking quite worried:
"Mentor Faust hasn't taken on a student for a few years now, partly because of the scarcity of light systems, and partly because he's very strict about enrollment and has a very low pass rate." Saying that, he said the same thing that Elena had told him earlier again.
Elena, who was sipping her after-dinner drink on the side, grunted as she skimmed her lips at that:
"I've already said everything you said!"
Connor looked over at Edith, just to see her nodding with her usual face, "Yeah, I know."
"Then you ......"
Edith laughed, "People should always have some pursuit when they live, besides, even if Mentor Faust brushes me off in the end, I still have a Fire Mentor, so I won't be reduced to plugging into a class."
She is not a brainless impulse.
Connor was half speechless at her explanation, and it was only after a long time that he said as if he had no choice:
"Well ...... you're right."
The crowd who had pricked up their ears to eavesdrop on the side were thinking in their hearts, "Listen to this, "There's also a fire system", is it true that those who have awakened a dual system talent are just more arrogant and capricious than them?
Connor invited one step slower, at this time also can no longer find a reason to chat with Edith - he is indeed on the Willey family this very high talent, and he is the same light system of the young lady produced close to the idea of drawing close to him.
But at this moment, that snub-nosed fellow Clark was looking at him with a sarcastic expression that saw through everything - all of Connard's overtures were swallowed into his stomach.
There was no hurry, it was never too late.
With that thought, Connor finally left after saluting the crowd - he could have ignored Bridges, of course.
He hadn't turned to take more than a few steps when Master Clark sneered loudly:
"How did you manage to have quite a conversation with a hypocrite like that?"
Edith could have assured you, with all the charisma of her personality, that Prince Conard had definitely heard this, for he paused in his tracks - and Master Clarke had let him hear it on purpose.
Edith said helplessly, "I didn't have quite the conversation with him."
"You did!" Master Clark retorted pointedly.
"And you invited him to afternoon tea sometime" he grunted from his nostrils, displeasure breaking through the heavens, "Aren't you afraid to turn your stomach at afternoon tea with someone who can't wait to have ten layers of masks on his face like that?" He said meanly.
Edith couldn't believe it, "I just said it off the top of my head, what are you yelling at me for?"
Master Clark felt offended, "Who yelled at you, huh?"
"You!" Edith folded her arms around her chest, "Please someone, don't take your excess anger out on unrelated people."
"What do you mean by superfluous, I clearly have anger towards you as well!" Master Clark frowned.
Miss Willey smiled sarcastically without flinching, "Coincidentally, so do I."
And so in front of this table of people - Elena, Penny, Flanda, and the uncountable number of covertly observing eyes around them - Master Clark and Miss Willey had a solid fight to vent their mutual anger.
Most of Sofia's students were actually pretty bored outside of class - having to survive on gossip this way.
Today, however, in the seventh building, they had watched a wonderful show with a climax and so much information that it could have provided them with a week's worth of talking points.
For example, Master Clarke and Prince Connor had both invited Miss Willey to lunch at the same time, and Prince Connor had come in late and missed her.
Another example is that Master Clark seems to be very close to Miss Willey (?).
Another example, Miss Willey actually chose to enroll in that Faust tutor who made countless people back off.
--Is she a brainless impulse or is she really confident that she can pass the Faster Tutor's test?
