Lucius's POV
I stood outside the door, my ears straining to hear any sound from within. And then, I heard it - the muffled sound of my wife crying. My heart sank, and I ended up feeling guilty. I made the woman I am in love with cry. Gosh,I went too far this time around, what am I going to do? I don’t ever want to see her sad.
I realized, in that moment, that I had gone too far. My accusations, my jealousy, my possessiveness - it had all been too much for her. And now, she was crying, hurting because of me. Damn me!!!
I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down, and knocked on the door, my voice soft and gentle. “Wifey, please open up.”
There was a pause, and then I heard her voice, firm but shaking slightly. “Go away.”
I couldn't go away. I had to make things right.
