(Morrigan’s P.O.V)
After Rian’s sponge bath, he helped me get into pajamas and settled back into bed before he finished cleaning up the stuff from my sponge bath. I was exhausted from the fight and from using so much magic, I just wanted to go to bed. Rian came back and crawled into bed with me after changing into gray sweats that hung dangerously low on his hips, and if I wasn’t injured, I would ride him like a rodeo queen.
“I know what you are thinking, mo grá, silence those thoughts before you get bent over the bed and spanked. Just because your shoulder is injured, doesn’t mean I can’t spank that ass red.” He growled; his nostrils flared as he smelled my arousal.
“Sorry love can’t help it when you wear those gray sweatpants. They’re a f*****g aphrodisiac to me.” I giggle.
Rian pulls me to him, my ass against his pelvis, feeling his hard c**k poking me in my ass cheek. He growls again into my neck and the increased scent of my arousal.
“I told you to stop it, Princess.” He murmurs against my neck, leaving feather-light kisses.
I giggle as he sighs against my neck, making me shiver.
“You need to get some sleep baby; we do have a long day ahead of us tomorrow.” He whispers.
With a soft kiss goodnight on my cheek, I hear Rian’s breathing even out and his heart rate slow before I find myself following him into the void of sleep. The next morning feels like it comes too soon. Rian shuffles in bed switching off his alarm as it continues to ring.
“Baby, time to get up.” He says, his voice thick with sleep.
“I’m already awake love. I need help getting ready.” I whisper.
He hums in agreement and slowly gets out of bed, stretching so I can see his muscles.
Fuck, our mate is a f*****g snack. I could just lick those abs.
Me too, Winter, me too.
“Baby, what did I tell you last night?” Rian growls out.
“Whoopsie.” I giggle.
He growls as he stomps to the shower, huffing and puffing like the big bad wolf. I’m not seriously injured, and my wound is mostly healed with the stitches, but I still need to be careful with my shoulder and doing a scene with him wouldn’t be good for it. While Rian is in the shower, I go to our closet and pick out an outfit that would be considered appropriate for meeting the elven king.
Hmm, what to wear. What to wear. I think to myself, looking over all of my clothes.
I find a white bodycon dress that reaches my knees with a V-shaped slit in the back that gives my legs extra room to move. The dress has short, off-the-shoulder sleeves with a sweetheart neckline. I walk into the bathroom, still in pajamas, to do my make-up and hair, which I decide to keep a neutral eye with soft shades of brown with a cat eye, and a soft pink lip tint.
“Baby, when you are done in the shower and dressed, can you help me with my hair? My left shoulder is still sore, and I can’t lift my arm up high enough.” I call out.
“Of course, babe. I’m almost done.” He responds.
I grab out my curling wand and plug it in, when he’s done in the shower and dressed, he comes over and starts trying to do my hair.
“Babe, how the f**k am I supposed to do this?” He grunts out, frustrated in trying to figure out how to wrap my hair around the wand.
“Here love, just hold the wand and I will wrap the hair around it to show you.” I giggle.
Once he understands what he needs to do, he continues curling my hair until my hair falls in beautiful curls around me. He brushes his fingers through the curls to separate them, he leans down and kisses the top of my head.
“You look beautiful.” He murmurs against my hair.
I smile and walk out of the bathroom to change into my dress. I grab a pair of nude stilettos out of the closet to pair with the dress. We head downstairs and meet Cormac at the vehicle.
“I didn’t know you were coming,” I say.
“Well, as Gamma, it’s my duty to protect you and accompany you wherever you go,” Cormac answers with a broad smile.
He’s a handsome man, with short-cropped black hair and beautiful gray eyes. He has a strong jaw and high cheekbones, with a bit of 5 o’clock shadow on his face. We get into the car and make our way to Eglarest, the nerves start setting in and my leg starts bouncing up and down on its own accord. We get to the border of the kingdom and guards surround the car. They are all tall with sharp facial features and pointed ears. Some men had long blonde hair, others had long brown hair, but everyone had piercing gray eyes that were honestly, sort of creepy.
“Good afternoon, I’m Supreme Alpha Rian O’Connor and this is my mate and Supreme Luna Princess Morrigan of Eferhile. We are here to meet with King Alstin,” Rian states.
“Please proceed, Alpha, we will escort you to the palace.” One of the guards said, before walking away and allowing Cormac to pass.
A group of guards on horseback rode alongside the car to escort us. The horses were beautiful and pure white with pure white manes. After about a 30-minute drive, we arrived at a French Baroque-style palace, much like the Palace of Versailles in the Mortal Realm, with beautiful gardens surrounding the driveway. A man was walking down the stairs at the front of the palace; he was tall, slim but muscular, with long white hair, with piercing green eyes, pointed ears, and Elvish tattoos of protection and strength on him. Cormac opens my door as Rian offers me his hand, and once I’m out of the car, the man’s eyes go wide and his breath hitches.
“Amelie?” He whispers out.
I look at him confused.
“No, I’m Princess Morrigan, of the Fae kingdom of Eferhile and Supreme Luna of the Shifter kingdom Máni,” I state, holding out my hand for him to shake, my eyebrows scrunched together.
“You look just like my Aunt Amelie, the former Queen Luna of the kingdom. Your eyes and hair are just like hers, but you have King Conri’s nose and ears.” He says, taking in every inch of my face.
Rian clears his throat, “King Alstin, we are here to discuss Morrigan’s magic. If we could please proceed.”
King Alstin takes a moment, shakes his head, and walks ahead of us inside, almost completely ignoring that super awkward moment. I mind link Rian to get his thoughts on the issue.
Umm, was that weird to you or was it just me? I ask.
Nope, that was beyond weird. Why did he say you look like them? I don’t really see the resemblance myself. Then again, I’ve only ever seen portraits of them.
I think we may need to keep an eye on King Alstin. I think he’s one taco short of a combo plate.
Rian couldn’t help the snort that came out at my comment about the elf king’s sanity, which was loud enough that the king turned around with his eyebrows raised.
“Something funny Alpha?” He asks.
“Sorry, Your Majesty. My wolf just made a comment about our mate from this morning is all.”
Alstin nods and continues walking us through the palace, which was decorated in off-whites and creams, keeping the place open and airy. Beautiful artwork covered the ceiling that depicted the Moon Goddess blessing the elves with their magic, in vibrant colors accented with gold. Alstin leads us to an office that is quite the opposite of the rest of the palace. It’s dark and masculine, with a regal air about it.
“So, do I call you Princess Morrigan or Supreme Luna Morrigan?” Alstin asks, sitting behind his desk as Rian, Cormac, and I take the seats in front of it.
“Just Morrigan is fine, Your Majesty.” I say politely.
“Alright then, Morrigan. Now, do you want to tell me how you survived your mother dying during the coup when everyone thought you died with her?” The king asks in a harsh manner, which causes both Rian and Cormac to stand up and growl at him.
“I have no idea what you are talking about, King Alstin, but if you knew who I was, then you would know that I don’t know who my birth parents are or who left me at the palace in Eferhile. So, I would appreciate it if you would stop making assumptions that I am the late Queen Amelie and King Conri’s daughter.” I snapped.
He looks taken aback for a second before he smiles warmly.
“I know that you’re their child, because I can sense Amelie’s magic in you.” He states.
