It felt as though all the air had been sucked out of the conference room. The hand holding Tyler's laser pointer fell to his side, and the red dot disappeared from the screen. Madison was the first to recover. "That's impossible!" she shrieked. "Our club rejected you. How could you possibly work for Mercer Capital?" I ignored her, removed my employee badge and authorization letter from the scoring folder, and laid them flat on the table. The gold company seal, internal identification number, and authorization signature were all there. Associate Dean Harris rose from the back row and came over.
