“Marco!” Ava said when Someone you loved starts playing.
He pulled her close to him and started swaying slowly to the music. She leaned her head against him her breath in his neck. His heart skipped a beat as he began twirling her. His eyes never left the sight of her.
To everyone watching, it looked like two siblings having a bond for the first time. But the emotions that ran through them both were so different, with Marco’s hands on her waist He had heard every soft breath she took, felt her warmth radiating against his back, and sensed each throb of her sweet pulse. And eventually, to his horror, he had found himself giving in to it. His tongue had brushed back and forth over his canine teeth, enjoying the pleasure-pain that was building there, encouraging it. He'd breathed her smell into his nostrils deliberately, and let the visions come to him, imagining it all. How soft her neck would be, and how his lips would meet it with equal softness at first, planting tiny kisses here, and here, until he reached the yielding hollow of her throat. How he would nuzzle there, in the place where her heart beat so strongly against the delicate skin. And how at last his lips would part, would draw back from aching teeth now sharp as little daggers, and—
No. He'd brought himself out of the trance with a jerk, his own pulse beating raggedly, his body shaking.
_____
There was also that mouth. That sculpted mouth that made her knees weak with something entirely different than nervousness. And that night-dark hair—her fingers itched to weave themselves into its softness. That lithe, flat-muscled body, those long legs… and that voice. It was his voice that had decided her yesterday, making her absolutely determined to have him. His voice had been cool.
When she had spoken to him, he had been unable to believe that he had to face her while his veins burned and his whole upper jaw ached. He'd been afraid for a moment that his control would break, that he would seize her shoulders and take her in front of all of them.
Emilia smiled holding Antonio closer to her. “Look at them, our children having fun tighter,” Emilia said
“I’m glad, I guess they both matured more in the five years than I thought.” He chuckled, caressing his wife’s hair and kissing her forehead gently. Although there was no mating bond between them, he loved her dearly. The feeling that he could not be apart from her long or his wolf feeling restless never occurred as it did with his mate, but the love was strong. They had been two broken souls who had found each other.
“He is a strong Alpha just like his father,” Emilia replied, watching Marco spin Ava as she smiled.
“Let’s just hope he finds his mate soon; an alpha needs his Luna,” Antonio said seriously. Emilia nodded in agreement before leaving her husband as someone called for her. Back on the dance floor, the couple was interrupted by someone.
“Move over Alpha, at least spare us the one girl you
can’t have,” Dante, the future delta, said with a smirk, bringing the two out of their trance.
“f**k off?” Ava said looking at him as she stepped away from Marco. Dante raised an eyebrow. He was handsome, but unlike Isabella who was a sweet girl, Dante was a ass. he probably is the biggest player in Italy. Although she would never tell Marco, he had been one of the guys that night… although he acted like it never happened. Ava wondered if he had just been
completely wasted. But still, she couldn’t forgive him.
Marco did not miss the hostility from Ava as she glared at the taller man, wondering if there was more to it. Dante flashed her a smile.
“Oh, come on Ava, one dance, please?” he requested.
“I said no thank you,” Ava said walking off, leaving the two men on the dance floor. Clary rushed over a pout on her face.
“That was not fair!” She grumbled, dragging Ava towards the bar. Being 20 meant she was legally at a drinking age in the UK but for werewolves who had a very high tolerance, they had been drinking since they could walk, although it had been more limited then. Clary was a year older than Ava. She took a seat, sulking.
“He is still an asshole don’t worry,” Ava said, feeling a little bad for her.
“But do you know how many hours I practiced to say anything to him?” She asked.
“Practiced what?” Freya’s voice came, strolling over with Lorenzo
“Hey, Ava! Hey, Angel.” Lorenzo said giving them both a smile.
“Hey Lorenzo, looking good,” Ava said.
“You too! Loving the lace babe,” he said. “You look bomb tonight.” Ava turned to Clary who had just been lamenting to Freya on how Marco refused to dance with her.
“Clary only rated me a 8,” she said smugly.
“Oh whatever, you’re a 7,” Clary said making Freya smirk.
“I thought you said 8 earlier?” Ava asked, raising an eyebrow.
“You became ugly after dancing with your brother, when I was supposed to.” Clary said irritated making the rest laugh.
“So, what happened? Why are you two dancing and getting along?” Freya asked grabbing a drink as she quickly looked around. She is still young so she is not allowed to drink even though she is part of the mafia family her parents did not like her drinking either.
“You go girl,” Lorenzo said daring not to take one in front of his parents.
“He was trying to get away from Anna,” Ava said casually as everyone waited for the answer.
“Oh yes! What did you think of her new look?” She asked giggling as Lorenzo snickered.
“I was shocked but Marco looked traumatized,” Ava said with a smirk.
They all broke into laughter.
Marco glanced their way, as he watched the group laugh. Ava sitting there - legs crossed. He only looked away when Matteo, his best friend, called him. Matteo was the same age as him and he had found his mate when he was 20, she had been from their own pack and since then he was happily in love and mated. Marco actually felt jealous of them, that is when he realized he fell in love with Ava.
It was much later and all the elderly, and the young children had gone to their homes for the night. Some unmated wolves had left together too. Those in their early teens had gone and Ava and Clary had spent most of the evening drinking, eating and talking, although Anna had tried to spoil their fun they did not care, she never gave two f***s for what anyone thought of her.
She looked around and noticed the crowd had dispersed a lot. Marco was still sitting there, talking to Matteo and his mate Giulia, a gorgeous woman with deep melanin skin and braided locks. She had a body that many girls were envious of. That made her a bit jealous.
She saw Isabella sat alone and felt a little bad for her, wondering what had happened between her and Marco. Although they had never been officially a couple, they have always been together. Anna was trying her hardest to catch Marco’s attention but she just looked dumb.
“So, why don’t we go back to my place?” Dante asked from behind Ava tensed for a moment as he took the seat next to her.
“I told you to f**k off and leave me alone.” She snapped back.
Dante smirked, masking how he really felt. He hated her high and mighty attitude, and the way she acted like she was stronger than everyone. All he wanted was to use her, show that she was nothing but someone that could be replaced. Although he hated her bitchy attitude, he had to admit, she was one gorgeous she-wolf…
“Come on Ava, play nice or I’m sure we both know I can bite too,” he said winking at her. She turned away from him not wanting to talk to him any further. He placed his hand on her thigh and Ava jerked it away before stepping away from him and letting her stool hit the ground, capturing the attention of everyone. Clary stepped back she did not know about what had happened with Ava.
“Don’t f*****g touch me!” She hissed.
Don’t cause so much drama, why don’t you just give me what I want? What are you so afraid of? Have you got something to hide? He asked through the mind link.
Ava froze. Did he remember about what he and his friends had done? Why else did he speak through the mind link? Anger bubbled to the surface and she shoved him, hard. A powerful aura surrounded her as her eyes flashed silver.
“f**k you, Dante!” She hissed. Marco got up in a flash as he saw Dante growl, he had no idea what had happened between the two, but things were getting out of hand fast.
“Show some respect, Ava,” Dante hissed, placing his hands in her hair, leaning in to kiss her. She shoved him off.
“Don’t touch me!” She shouted, lunging at him. The events of that night surfaced as she punched him between the legs. Marco grabbed her around the waist, pulling her back. Dante growled, blood running from his broken nose.
“Just calm down Dante…” Matteo said as Isabella ran over to her brother.
“Easy there, Ava, calm down,” Marco said, not releasing his hold on her waist.
“Let go of me, Marco, tell him to keep the f**k away from me or I’ll tear him to shreds!” She spoke
You weren’t so brave that night, but you were delicious. Dante taunted through the mind link. Her eyes were silver as she glared at him with hatred.
“Let go of me, Marco!” She growled. He felt the Alpha command radiate off her, but he did not care about that. Everyone else kept their distance uncertain of what was happening, all realizing the power of her command.
“Come on, Dante, let’s go…” Isabella said, dragging her brother away.
This isn’t over, you’re going to pay for what you did. Dante’s words entered Ava’s mind before he let Isabella lead him away.
“The party is over please retreat to your homes,” Marco said to the others before heading inside. He was impressed with her strength as she struggled in his arms. “You are going to wake everyone Ava, I am trying to help you!”
“I do not need your help Marco, I coped well on my own, now let me go!” She snapped as Marco lifted her and threw her over his shoulder, pinning her arms to her waist as his one arm wrapped around her.
“You can’t punch a pack member, Ava, no matter what,” Marco said, his voice sharp. She felt his alpha aura emanating from him and felt it weigh on her. She growled in return.
“So, you are fine with what he did! LET ME GO!”
He shook his head, carrying her to her room. Locking the door behind him, he headed to his own room. Opening the door, he entered, ignoring her struggling and kicking. He shut the door before their parents heard the commotion and dumped her on the bed, trying not to notice how her breasts bounced. She glared at him, about to get up, but Marco held her by her shoulders and pinned her down.
“Calm down, Ava, what the hell happened?” He asked.
She was a feisty she-wolf but there was always a reason for her annoyance, he knew that much.
“He…It does not concern you,” She growled. Realizing it will make thing worst to tell him
“I’m your alpha, it’s my job to keep my pack in check.
How can I help if you won’t tell me what happened?” He asked with much concern.
“I don’t care, now get the hell off me, because you are just like the rest of them.” she warned.
“Not until you’re calm, and how can you say that Ava I have not done anything to you?” Struggling, she aimed a kick at him. He was fast. In a flash he had her pinned down sitting on her thighs, restricting her legs as he glared down at her. “Tell me what happened, baby girl,” he said, his eyes darkening. She frowned, her anger fading as she became aware of their position. Her stomach fluttered, and taking a deep breath to calm herself she looked at him with her deep blue eyes.
“Okay. I’m calm, now let me go,” she said, calmly, trying not to glare at him. His green eyes met hers and her heart skipped a beat, what was that emotion in them? Her heart hammered when she saw his gaze fall to her lips. “Marco…” she whispered, feeling her core throb. He looked into her eyes, not missing her softer tone.
“I am not like them and you are not any girl Ava… I am sorry for what had happened to you and I am sorry for that I was not able to save you, But you know you think about what happened this morning to,” he whispered leaning closer. He was not sure if it was the excessive alcohol in his system that made him speak his thoughts or seeing her pinned beneath him. Never had he ever seen a woman looking more appealing than the feisty woman beneath him. He wanted her… to taste the sweetness of her mouth… to feel her skin against him…
“Marco… we can’t do this,” she murmured her core only grew as her heart thudded.
“Like I said… I need you Ava…I want you” he murmured, his lips brushing her ear was awarded by a sharp intake of breath. Her racing heart was loud in his ear, her intoxicating scent clouding his senses mixed with the heavenly scent of their arousal…
