Sara Osei published her full account in November. Not the piece she had written during the difficult period of Nadia’s press campaign. Something longer, more considered, drawn from the sessions at the estate and additional conversations over the course of the year. She had asked in the spring if she could expand it into a longer work, a narrative account of the marriage, its origins and its becoming, and we had thought about it for a month and said yes. We said yes because the story had been told about us by enough people without our participation and we trusted Sara Osei with the real version in a way we did not trust silence. She sent us the manuscript in September. I read it in the library over two days. Damien read it at his desk over one. She had gotten it right. Not flatteringly
