CHAPTER 22

William snorted in annoyance. He looked again at the watch in his hand to estimate the time. He had been waiting for almost an hour but Ivone had not yet come to see him. In fact, today he wanted to invite the woman to go to a diamond exhibition, to buy a suitable diamond for their wedding ring. He reached for his cell phone, which was in his trouser pocket, then he immediately called the woman. However, trying to try three times, Ivone still did not answer. Feeling annoyed, he then contacted Frederick, Ivone's father. It didn't take long for the man to answer his phone call. "Hello, Father-in-law," he greeted kindly. "Hello, young Master Galloway." "Good grief Father-in-law, why are you so stiff like that? Just call my name." “Ah, it's fine, I like to call you that. Oh yeah, what's the matter you contacted me?” William took a deep breath. “I've made an appointment with Ivone, but she hasn't come yet. Didn't she tell you?" “A-ah… not yet. She didn't tell me that s**t, but you'd better see each other some other time." The man frowned in surprise. "Why?" "Ivone isn't feeling well at the moment, maybe she forgot to tell you about it." Hearing that, of course, William was a little disappointed. “A-ah… I see, huh? Well, I'll go to your house to see her." "Y-You don't need to bother, Master–" "Oh my… how could that be called troublesome? My fiancé is sick, of course I have to see her." There was a heavy sigh from Frederick. "Very well, sir. I am very grateful, Ivone would be very happy to hear that." William cracked a smile, he couldn't wait to see the smile on Ivone's face. "Yes, I am on the way." The man hung up the phone, then he got up from where he was waiting. After paying for the food he ordered earlier, he then left the cafe where he had been waiting for Ivone earlier and headed towards the Scholher family residence. However, while he was in a hurry, he accidentally bumped into someone who was calling and the woman's cell phone fell on the floor. The woman squealed in surprise, especially when she saw her cell phone screen cracked. "Damn it! Can't you see me, huh?!" she snapped. "Sorry, I did not mean it." "Look at my phone, it's broken!" William snorted in annoyance, he didn't have time to take care of things like that, Ivone needed him right now – he thought. "I will compensate, but not at this time because there are important matters." He reached into a wallet from he trouser pocket, then he gave a business card to the woman. "You can message your cell phone type here, I'll give you a new cell phone." The woman snorted in annoyance, but her eyes widened when she read the name on her business card. "A-ah, fine, sir. You–" "Sorry, I have to go," he said as he walked away. The woman reached for her phone. The screen was cracked, but the phone was still working fine even though they had to get the screen repaired. She heard a man's voice chattering on the telephone line, bringing her back to her senses that he was now having a problem that was giving her a headache. "Hello! Are you deaf, huh?!" exclaimed the man who was now raging on the telephone line. The woman took a deep breath. "Can't you stop nagging, Rudolf? My head hurts to hear your babbling," she groaned. Yes, that woman is Judith. She, who chose to go have fun rather than stay in Rudolf's apartment, now had to face the man's scolding over the phone because Rudolf asked her to come back. "Fine, but when are you coming home? Hurry home, there's something I want to talk to you about." "About what?" "Come on, let's just talk about this at home." Rudolf hadn't spoken to her softly lately, which naturally made Judith suspicious. "Does this have anything to do with your mother?" she guessed. A sigh came from the telephone line. "Yes, it's about my mother. Can't you go back first? I need to talk." To be honest, he already knew what to talk about when it came to Rudolf's mother, but he chose to pretend not to understand. "Yes, alright. But not now, I have to meet my old friend," she said. "Okay, I'll wait at home." Judith took a deep breath, she was starting to feel sick of him. At first, she was attracted because she saw Rudolf was established and had a lot of money. Besides that, he was also very loyal to her. But apparently, it was all because there was Lucia's role behind it. If it weren't for that woman's help, Rudolf would be nothing. He's just a talkative and annoying guy—he thought. Not only that, Rudolf's mother is also very annoying. The woman kept asking for money and interfering with their lives. It was very annoying. But much to her dismay, Rudolf always obeyed his mother and that irritated her. Which made her even more angry. Rudolf did not apologize and regretted his actions. The man bear was a real trash man—she thought. "Gosh ... I'm really annoyed because I was deceived in my outward appearance alone," she grumbled while smiling bitterly. She looked back at William's business card, then smiled happily. "This seems like a good opportunity," she muttered. “But isn't the man who was looking for Lucy at that time also one of the sons of the Galloway family? Oh, what a fool! Now is the time for me to focus on myself alone, getting away from Rudolf is more important than thinking about Lucia.” *** At the residence of the Scholher family, Ivone was gazing at the view of the garden in her family's mansion. She was not in the mood to do any activities today, especially if she had to meet William. She still pictured Alexander's face, her feelings were hard to control, but she knew it couldn't happen. The sound of a knock on the door sounded loud, without being invited to enter, the door opened and there was Frederick who was on his hips while looking at him intently. The man walked over to his daughter and sat right next to Ivone. "He will come here. When I said you were sick, he said he would come.” Hearing that, Ivone could only sigh heavily. "I don't want to see him," she insisted. Hearing that, how furious Frederick was and then he gave the woman a hard slap. “How dare you refuse my orders! Meet him and serve him as best you can. I've been patient all this time to shut up and accept you as my daughter, so stop fighting back and be of some use!” he snapped. "Or ... you will pay for it yourself ... you will no longer be able to see your mother," he hissed. Hearing that, Ivone glared sharply. "W-what are you going to do to my mother?!" Frederick smirked. “Just guess what I'm going to do to her. If you still want to meet her alive, then obey her and be a good girl," he threatened with glaring eyes. "Don't hurt mommy," he whispered with teary eyes. "Then, obey and be a good girl. If it wasn't for your mother begging for forgiveness and begging to give birth to you, I would have killed you before you were even born. So, it's useful a little to repay me," he hissed, and then walked away. The woman was scared, she didn't know what the crazy man would do to her. Now that she regretted being able to live in this world, maybe it would have been better if she had never been in this world than to have to bear such a huge responsibility—she thought.
