Alicia POV
I woke up to see Nicklaus staring at me lovingly. I wonder how long he has been.watching me sleep. As much as this is romantic its also kinda creepy.
"Good morning Nicklaus" I said.
"Good morning love, how was your night"
" Not so great. I was terrified thinking what would happen today " I say
"Everything will be fine. Just remember nothing is going to happen to you. I will protect you from everyone. No one will touch you" Nicklaus assured me.
I smiled holding his hands. Geez for a couple that met 3 weeks ago we are sure moving fast. We are moving like someone's chasing us.
"Come on. I booked a royal meeting with my father and everyone else this morning. So we have to go now" Nicklaus said.
I gulped. Then I quickly took a shower and wore a dress I saw laid out on the bed for me. No need to ask any questions about where or how he got a lady dress. I'm way too panicked to be jealous.
"Are you ready love" He asked stepping into the room.
No!
"Of course" I said politely smiling.
We walked down the halfway together to the conference room and I received a lot of hateful stares. Some even tried to attack but one growl from Nicklaus had them staying still. In the supposed conference room looked a lot like an overpriced dining table with old men and classy women.
Immediately we walked in deep angry snarls erupted from all over the room. They e two inches away from lynching me.
"Nicklaus what have you done. How dare you bring a human into my land. Thats treason! She is to be killed at once" The old man said.
"I brought a human here not lice. Stop acting like they got some contagious disease. I brought her here and I will never regret it. She's mine and none of you will lay a hair on her head" Nicklaus declared.
Thats right. Tell him!
"Nicklaus what is wrong with you. You know what I don't have time for this right now. Guards get that human" The old man yelled.
Three guards advanced at me. Before I could hurt them....
"Touch her and I will break all your bones into powder then drain your blood and feed you to werewolves" Nicklaus threatened.
The guards eyes went wide and took a giant step back. I don't Blane them I'm not a guard and I feel threatened too.
"Why do I have guards that are as weak as humans" The old man lamented.
I feel you bro.
"I didn't just bring some random human here. This " human " is my mate. She belongs to me by law and I'm not letting some stupid 18 year old quarrel keep us apart even if I have to kill every guard in the dragon clan from hurting her I will do it". Nicklaus growled.
Most of the people here had their jaws dropped in shock. I don't blame them a human and dragon mate. Thats near impossible. Its barely even believable.
"Your... Your... Mate is a human" His dad stammered.
Do I look like a vampire to you.
"How in the world is she your mate! Your the strongest creature in the world. The least nature could do is to pair you with an equally strong mate" A lady from the table yelled.
"My mate is the strongest person in this room right now silver. She's not a weekling she's a great leader and she can defend herself from anything. I have been waiting for my mate for years I am not letting some stupid law keep her away from me" Nicklaus growled.
"But she's Human!" Silver yelled.
" I don't give a s**t. My mom was a werewolf yet dad married her. So why should I give her up for some law" Nicklaus yelled
"What do you expect. You know exactly why we don't allow humans here. I should have her killed and you demoted cause you broke the law you are supposed to kill her the minute you set your eyes on her . This is why you will never be a good leader you aren't strong enoughn. You spared a human just cause you think your mated to her. Ok let's imagine you really are mated to her what's the good of a human mate. They are practically useless" His dad yelled.
"Not to mention the scandal this will cause. Let's just kill her it would make things easier" Silver cooed.
"Listen up! Why are you so annoyed to find out he has a human mate. You dragons pushed us around and always told us how weak we are. Well if we were really weak we won't have been able to survive all those years in the outlands. A place with no food or good water. You hunted our kids and killed for fun. Now that we show we can survive you still scream how weak we are. If I'm so weak why are you offended that I'm his mate and his Queen. If I can't do anything why are you acting threatened and pressuring me to kill him. If I'm so weak there's no problem because Nicklaus is more than capable of ruling by himself" I finished.
Many eyes narrowed at me not happy I spoke. Well they can take their hatred for me and shove it up.
"You know nothing about our traditions" Silver said.
"Actually Alicia knows everything there is to know about us" nicklaus said.
"Hold did you say Alicia. Pls don't tell me she's Alicia the dragon slayer" The king said
