Selene's POV
I should have felt free. I should have felt strong. I had finally stood my ground. Finally said everything I had buried deep inside me for years.
But all I felt was pain. A kind of pain that settled into my bones and refused to move. Like something had died.
Alone in the corner of my room, I curled up, my head buried in my knees. The storm outside had quieted, but the one inside me was just beginning.
“He was the one who let me go first. He hurt me first,” I whispered into the silence. “But why… why does it feel like I hurt him? Like I’m the one at fault?”
