Jasmine's POV "Jasmine, baby, please listen to me—" Christopher reached for me, his hands shaking. "This isn't what it looks like." Isabel took a step closer to him, her movements possessive despite the awkwardness. "We're sorry you had to see that," she added, her voice carrying a note of annoyance that she tried to mask with false concern. "We were just... talking." Raya snarled inside my head. Lying w***e. I watched Christopher's face—the panic in his eyes, the way his mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water. He was handsome, I'd always thought so. But now all I could see were the lies he'd fed me for months. The gentle touches that meant nothing. The promises he never intended to keep. He's such a good actor, I thought, and felt a cold smile tug at my lips. But so am I.
