The notification chimed just as I stepped out of the shower, wrapped in a towel with water still dripping from my hair. I glanced at my phone absently, expecting another spam message or perhaps something from Christopher. What I saw instead made me freeze mid-step.
Subject: Congratulations from Ford Entertainment
My heart stuttered. Ford Entertainment? I tapped the email with trembling fingers.
Dear Ms. Wade,
We are pleased to inform you that after careful consideration of all candidates, you have been selected for the role in our upcoming production. Your audition demonstrated the exact quality and depth we've been searching for. We would like to formally offer you this position, pending contract review and acceptance.
