Christopher's POV I stared at my phone, jaw clenched, stomach twisting into knots as another call to Jasmine went straight to voicemail. The sound of her automated greeting mocked me, pushing my frustration beyond control. Where the hell was she? And why was she suddenly so comfortable ignoring me? My mother's voice echoed in my head, Until the end of the day. The day was coming to an end really fast today, and I still had nothing. No solution. No way out of this suffocating mess I'd created. I threw my phone onto the passenger seat and gripped the steering wheel until my knuckles turned white. This wasn't how it was supposed to go. Jasmine used to be easy to manage, predictable, desperate for my approval. Now she played games, demanded things, and acted as if she held all the cards.
