~ASTRA~
A lot happened today. From going in search of Ryder to somehow finding myself at a bank with Flynn and then a restaurant that charged more than I could afford for food in a semester, it ended with me climbing into Flynn's car and heading to a club.
I didn't know how to make sense of it all. And beyond the relief of having my tuition paid, there was still a little bit of uncertainty lurking in the dark.
Why was Flynn doing all of these? I mean, he asserted that I belonged to him on the first night we met and I had expected it to go well after that, but it didn't.
This off and on attitude was starting to stress me out, but I decided I was going to live in the moment. Maybe he had come to terms with the fact that the mate bond I shared with him and Arik was beyond my control.
We finally arrived at the club. Flynn opened the car door for me and I stepped out, feeling like I was the wrong person for this dress and also at the wrong place.
A club in a dress that was prettier than me?
This was more of Valerie's vibe. She was going to rock so well in these and I wished I could take a picture so I could show her tomorrow.
Like Flynn could read my mind, he stopped me from moving further and whipped out his iPhone, angling it towards me.
"What are you doing?" I asked, suddenly becoming self conscious.
"Taking pictures of you, of course." He smiled and tilted his camera.
"I don't look good behind cameras, Flynn. Stop." I muttered, turning my face from him. People were starting to stare at us and honestly, it made me feel really uncomfortable.
He lowered the camera. "Why would you say that?"
"Because every full picture I've taken has always turned out to be trash."
"But the ones I took aren't," He smiled and came to stand beside me. "Take a look."
With shaky hands, I took the phone from his hand and looked down at the first picture that popped up on his screen.
"Woah," I gasped in surprise, barely believing the pretty girl staring back at me was me. "You probably enhanced it to look good."
"You better start giving yourself credit for what it's worth," He replied and took a few steps back. "I'll take a few more pictures of you, then find someone to take for us both before we head into the club."
My eyes darted to the club. It was several metres away from the parking lot and I could tell it was really large from the largeness of the building and the people tripping into the club.
We finally found someone to take photos of us and it turned out even nicer.
"That's the power of being social," Flynn chuckled as we walked towards the club. "I can tell someone will be a good photographer."
"Are you sure you didn't use your psychic abilities?" I asked and he laughed.
This was my first time being at a club. I'd never attended one and right now, I felt so out of place.
Everyone was dressed in skimpy clothing and I could see all shades of hair styles and shows and all types of people. From emos to plain pretty girls who only wanted to party, get drunk and hookup right after. I could be wrong after all.
But they all seemed to be having fun and I wondered how they were even able to do such.
The bouncer at the door immediately led us in after shaking hands with Flynn and passing a tiny Ziploc bag into his hand.
And as we made our way through the corridors of the club, I asked Flynn.
"What's in that bag?"
Flynn opened his palm to reveal pink skull shaped pills. "These are happy pills."
"Are you sad or depressed?" I asked.
Flynn burst into laughter and squeezed my waist. "Oh, you're so innocent."
His words hurt. I didn't want to be seen as innocent because I was far from being an innocent person. Why did he call me that?
"Are you going to tell me what they are or do you enjoy mocking me?"
"This is Molly," He peeled the Ziploc open and popped a pill into his hand. "It's a drug but not like the bad stuff. It's pretty common in the party scene."
"A drug?" I whispered and looked around to be sure no one was listening. I didn't want to risk getting arrested. "What does it do?"
"It's like a happy pill. It makes you feel really good, relaxed and energised at the same time. You'll feel like you're on top of the world," He grabbed my arm. "You'll only get it if you experience it."
"Are you saying I should take it too?" I asked, staring down at the pill just before he threw it into his mouth.
Pocketing it, he shook his head. "No, mi amor. I can't risk that tonight. This club is insanely large and things can get crazy at times. I don't want to be the reason something happens to you. I won't forgive myself."
I sighed. "You're going to make me feel left out."
He burst into laughter. "You sound like a drug addict right now."
"Flynn!" Someone called from behind us and I groaned inwardly. It better not be a girl or I was going to lose my s**t.
Well, I was wrong because it was a girl. A girl with a group of other girls.
She rushed towards Flynn and threw her arms around his neck. "Oh, Flynn! I have missed you terribly."
Flynn glanced at me and pulled her arms from around him, maintaining a simple smile. "Ursula. Looking good as always."
She smiled and gave us an unwarranted three-sixty turn. Flynn looked amused as she did so.
"Why are you here by the way?" The other girl asked. This one had tattoos written all over her body. "Hanny isn't going to like seeing you here."
The group fell silent. Flynn chuckled. "She's the reason I am here. She better be ready to see me."
She shook her head and tapped his arm. "Wish you the best of luck with her. She'll be gone soon anyway."
As soon as they left, I turned to Flynn who had a frown etched on his face.
"Who is Hanny? Everyone seems to be talking about her."
"Just someone." He replied coldly.
